Senior Management
UPH believes that our people are our valuable assets. That is why we constantly aim for the highest level of human resource quality. UPH took great concern in recruiting and developing our human resources, as well as managing to place the right person in the right position.
We took great care in this issue since we realize the importance of the human resource factor in conducting world-class education. We are fully aware that educators or lecturers are the key factor in improving students' interest towards a subject.
Our lecturers are skilled professionals, who have high concern in the educational field. They held masters or doctoral degrees from reputable national and international universities.

Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc. - Rector
Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc. is a graduate from the University of Tasmania, Australia, and was awarded an Honorary Doctor from Ouachita Baptist University. He has an extensive experience in business and government services. He was the President, CEO, and Chairman of Indosat. Dr. Parapak served as a Secretary General of the Department of Tourism, Post, Telecommunication; a member of the National Council of Research. Joining UPH in 2001, he was then appointed as the President and Rector of UPH in 2006.

Raymond Liu, Ph.D. - President
Dr. Raymond Liu joined UPH leadership team in May 2012 as President. He has earned degrees from National Taiwan University (B.S. in Chemical Engineering), West Virginia Tech (M.E. in Chemical Engineering), and North Carolina State University (Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering), where he also won the First Place Winner of the Schoenborn Award for the outstanding Ph.D. candidates in Chemical Engineering. Dr. Liu came to UPH with extensive management experience at the highest leadership levels in major corporations in Indonesia and North America.

Connie Rasilim, S.S., B.Ed, M.Pd - Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs
Connie Rasilim was an educator at SPH International, Lippo Village for over ten years. She was significantly involved in establishing the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme in the Junior School. In 2006 she was selected to be a leader of a pioneering team to set up UPH Teachers College. She is now the Dean of this Teachers College, which has commissioned over 550 teachers throughout Indonesia over its six years of operation. She earned her Master’s Degree (Magister Pendidikan) from Universitas Pelita Harapan; Bachelor of Education from Tabor College, Adelaide, Australia; and Bachelor in English Language and Literature from Universitas Methodist Indonesia, Medan. She is passionate about transformative education in a holistic, relational context. She believes that the heart of education is relationship – with God, self and others. She is convinced that education is not merely about acquiring excellent knowledge and developing competent skills, but essentially about finding our identity in Jesus Christ. She firmly believes that a true education should bring people back to their Creator so that they can freely respond, according to His calling and using their God-given gifts and talents, thus impacting the wider community and ultimately bringing glory to Him.

Ainon Manan - Vice President for Finance and Administration
Graduated from Faculty of Economics Trisakti University, Ainon Manan started her career as an auditor at a registered public accounting firm , Arthur Andersen Utomo & Co. After several years of being a professional in the retail business, she joined the Pelita Harapan Foundation in 1994. The commitment of the foundation to the vision and mission of a good Christian education, has attracted her to dedicate her years at the schools, and currently also at the university.

Dr. J. Kirk Kauffeldt, Ed.D. – Vice President for Student Development and Spiritual Formation
Dr. Kirk Kauffeldt has joined the UPH leadership team with particular responsibility for Student Development and Spiritual Growth. He has earned degrees from Trinity Western University (BA Biblical Studies), Western Washington University (M.Ed. Student Personnel Administration) and University of Toronto (Ed.D. Higher Education: Theory and Policy Studies). He has worked in Christian higher education institutions internationally for twenty-five years and served in various positions including Enrolment Management, Lecturer, Academic Dean and Vice Chancellor. His special area of academic focus is Leadership.

Budhi T. Yuwono - Vice President for Relationship & Development
Graduated as a Master of Management from Universitas Indonesia and Master of Education from Universitas Pelita Harapan, he has set his heart on doing more to make UPH a well known university in the nation. After working at IBM Indonesia for eight years, he then serves at YPPH foundation for the last twenty years; in many positions especially in developing the Lentera Schools all over Indonesia. During those periods, he also spent four years working in the area of business development & external relations at UPH.
