The UPH Symbol depicts an open Bible with an eagle, strengthened by its Biblical foundation, ready to soar into the air. A luminous ring encircles both the Bible and the eagle, bearing the words "Universitas Pelita Harapan".

The Bible symbolizes the new strength for which God's people are waiting. They depend on God for that strength, much like a soaring eagle that depends on the strength of thermal drafts. As the eagle awaits the updrafts, so those "who wait on the Lord shall have their strength renewed; they shall mount up on wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31).

Finally the luminous ring encircling the Bible and the eagle and bearing the words "Universitas Pelita Harapan", symbolizes unity and totality in continuously upholding these symbols of spiritual strength. Universitas Pelita Harapan has thus declared itself to be an institution built on a Christian foundation, committed to producing graduates who are professional and skilled in their respective fields and dedicated to serving God and others.
