ALUMNI RELATIONS It is always very upbeat to meet our alumni as if we are facing the fast-growing entrepreneurs and professionals. The UPH Alumni Association may just come in a very young history but the future ahead looks so bright. Our alumni body comprises of near 7,000-strong community and yet spread out to the emerging markets around the globe. Embracing the opportunity, UPH Business Club, as one of the aspiring interest groups formed in July 2007, is truly a community of business network making, as the members come from CEO, Directors, business owners, to professionals. The Club is also looking at 2009 as the Entrepreneur year, starting up coordination with nationwide business organizations such as Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia (HIPMI).
Alumni Gatherings are held towards the very vision of networking. One of the highlighted events was the Business Talk Show in August 2008 when we had Saratoga Capital’s chair, Mr. Edwin Soeryadjaya, shared his experience and thoughts on the issue of achieving successful family business. The University senior mentor, Professor Adrianus Mooy, was also present and even shared gracefully, adding priceless knowledge to our alumni. Professor Mooy is also the senior advisor for UPH Business Club.
UPH alumni have also contributed actively in the academic development as in returning back on campus to co-lecture and mentor current students. The passing-on activities include involvement in the lecturing, sharing experiences at career talks and being involved in the Education Commission in the Alumni Association. Alumni and current students are bonded strongly by regular meetings during the course of their studies and by being inspirations to each other. The university pledges to support our alumni and current students strongly as both are the key elements of campus life here today. Opening up opportunities also mean to have job openings for and from alumni. Career Development and Alumni Center partners with multi-national companies recruit top graduates of the University every year. Some of the alumni are also offering jobs to others and fresh graduates. What a way of networking! All in all, the University is making sure that every graduate shares the great UPH Alumni experience.
