These three concentrations have been introduced in response to the demand in Indonesia and in other parts of the world for specialists in the language, literature and teaching aspects of English studies. The program is characterized by an innovative curriculum designed to help students develop mastery of the English language and communication skills. This situational approach to English is necessary to meet the demands of the global society and give distinction to this department. The lecturers hold Master's and Doctoral degrees and will present the study materials entirely in English using a variety of teaching methods and simulations. The lecturers, including international lecturers and guest lecturers from overseas, are experts in their fields.

ENGLISH LINGUISTICS
The objective of this concentration is to provide students with a detailed knowledge of the structure and overall characteristics of language systems in general and of the structure and functions of English in particular, by discussing the nature of human communication, the principles of language acquisition, and the relationship between language and society. The subjects offered in this concentration prepare the students to be sound language specialists.

ENGLISH LITERATURE
This concentration seeks to train students in the appreciation, criticism, creation, and teaching of English Literature and other literatures in the medium of English across the world. It is also intended to provide training in scholarly appreciation and elucidation of multiculturalism in literature that is much needed in Indonesia’s and in the world’s increasingly multicultural society.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING
In line with the current emphasis on English Language Teaching (ELT) world-wide, this concentration provides for a variety of practically-oriented language teaching courses intended to prepare the students for effective language teaching in various situational contexts.
