UPH Faculty of Design & Planning offers dual degree program in partnership with the Queensland University of Technology/QUT (www.qut.edu.au) for Interior Design and with the Hanze Groningen/HG (www.hanze.nl), Netherlands for Civil Engineering. Both universities are well known for their quality and curriculums that equip students with theoretical knowledge, skills and professional attributes necessary for careers.

This dual degree program is designed to enable students to gain local and international perspectives in obtaining their undergraduate degree. Students will spend their first four semester at UPH before continuing at the partner university. They will then finish their final project at UPH.

Upon graduation, graduates will earn the Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) degree from QUT and Sarjana Seni degree from UPH for Interior Design major.

DUAL DEGREE:
• Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) & Sarjana Seni

DURATION:
• 2 years (UPH) + 2 years (QUT)

THE PROGRAM:
UPH offers the dual degree program in partnership with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). QUT is one of Australian’s largest universities with 40,000 students, 12% of them are international students (QUT Statistics). QUT offers a broad range of undergraduate degrees than most other universities, with the flexibility to choose a combination of study areas as well as participate in exchange programs with overseas universities. Each year QUT is the largest provider of bachelor degree graduates into full-time employment in Australia and its graduate employment rate is well above the national average for Australian universities. QUT brings its rich past, performance-focused present and exciting future into the dual degree program.

This dual degree program is designed to enable students to gain local and international perspectives in obtaining their undergraduate degree. In the first 4 semesters at UPH, students are introduced to basic design skills, 2D/3D conceptual exercises and combination of furniture, residential and commercial case studies. Students also build on a wide range of knowledge of Indonesian heritage and indigenous wisdom as the foundation of building a unique design perspective. The next 4 semesters are finalized at QUT where students engage in the international context of the design industry environment. Projects at QUT offer specialization from various disciplines offered across the university. Students are encouraged to produce a body of work which represents the hybrid nature of the course and encapsulates unique characteristics from both Australian and Indonesian context.
