Faculty of Law - Law
DUAL DEGREE:
Bachelor of Common Law(BCL) and Sarjana Hukum(SH)
DURATION:
4 semesters (UPH) + 2 semesters (Murdoch) + 2 semesters (UPH)
THE PROGRAM:
UPH offers a dual degree program in partnership with Murdoch University, in Perth, Australia. Murdoch University is currently ranked as one of Australia’s top learning and teaching universities. It is one of only 12 universities to have received funding from Australia’s 2008 Learning and Teaching Performance Fund (LTPF) in each of the three years since its commencement. Murdoch Law School strives to combine a tradition of excellence in legal education with new innovative programs, which prepare students for the practice of law in a changing world.
This program is specifically designed to give students a global legal education by complementing our training in the Indonesian civil law system with common law perspectives as they are practiced across the world. It will afford students a strong foundation in the main areas of common law as practiced in Australia, giving them a practical edge over peers who are qualified in just one legal system. Students will spend the first four semesters in UPH learning law (In these four semesters, students are required to have earn at least 64 Credit Units of UPH Law Subjects). Then the next two semesters students attend Murdoch to learn common law systems. In their final year, students are expected to return to UPH to complete their SH program (e.g: thesis/final projects).
