As a God-fearing man, you will strive and sacrifice to love your wife and children responsibly. Society today is overly concerned with pursuing a rich and “happy” life and schools have been seconded to the same agenda. Schools are not teaching students to live a Godly life.
There are three pillars of education – family, school, and worship place. Family is the primary source of a child’s core education. The three pillars of education must be harmonized and synchronized. Good education involves educating your children properly at home, finding a school that shares your vision for your children, and then determining a mode of worship that harmonizes with your vision and purpose in life.
The vision of Pelita Harapan Educational Foundation is not just to establish good schools, but to establish schools that can become models for holistic and totally transformational education.
The life structure of every human being is like a pie comprising different slices. If we only develop one cut of pie – the cognitive aspect – and leave the rest untouched, there will be a consequent personality imbalance irrespective of how high the education level ultimately achieved.
True knowledge is knowledge that can free the learner to the extent that s/he will kneel down before God and acknowledge that God is the supreme source of all knowledge and wisdom. True knowledge must also lead to Godly character in the sense that life becomes a totality of faith and not a combination of different characters. True integrity in life is the result of this totality.
