UPH Film Screening is the biggest annual event, held by the Visual Communication Design (VCD) Department of UPH School of Design (SoD), has once again been successfully held on March 15-16, 2017. This film screening, which was held at Cinemaxx, Maxxbox Lippo Village, Tangerang, was the fourth one since the Cinematography concentration was established in 2013. During two days of the screening, there was a total of 700 people who have watched the screening.

According to Anton J. Babtista, Head of Cinematography Concentration of the VCD-UPH, the main goal of this event is to introduce students’ movies and animation works to a larger range audience which includes UPH students, parents, as well as professionals from some movie and animation companies. This event was also held to motivate students to do their best in making assignments so they can show their work to the world.

“The Movie Screening is a part of the academic process because every work showcased today originated from their assignments. Aside from that, this was an annual event which involved both students and lecturers. Through this event, each student was able to try to do the best for their assignments, because they realize the opportunity that their work could be shown to the public,” Anton stated.

According to Anton, some of the animation work have already been included in competitions and had won some achievements. Meanwhile, some of the work for this year screening has also participated and were shown last year.
