SHARE which is an abbreviation of ‘Show your Care’ and TRESNA, from the Javanese language which means ‘love’, was one of Student Life Department’s event which was a part of the Service Learning Community program of UPH. This event aims to provide students with a place where they can do impactful actions for the surrounding society. Service Learning itself is a learning method that applies students’ academic skills and ability to real-life communities around them.

One even which was done during the recent Service Learning Community is SHARE: TRESNA which means ‘sharing love’. The event was held on June 10, 2017, at UPH Karawaci. Unlike the previous ones, this event focused on outsourcing workers in UPH campus. Approximately 95 participants took part in this training, including security staffs, office boy, gardener and maintenance staffs.

Before the event, SLC had done a survey beforehand in order to apprehend the needs of these outsourcing workers. As a result, most of them conveyed their need for self-development which impacts their daily performance. Thus, SLC decided to hold a training program on two topics; the first one was ’Time Management and Work Motivation’ and ‘English Language Communication’.

For the training itself, the committee collaborated with experts, such as Kristina Untari Setiawan, M.M., an English Language Lecturer from the Faculty of Liberal Arts; 25 International Teachers College (ITC) students and 15 Teacher College students. Whereas the ‘Time Management and Work Motivation' session, was brought by a lecturer from Business School, Yohana
 F. Cahya Palupi Meilani, M.Si., and Radityo Fajar Arianto, MBA. During those sessions, some materials were also given by an assistant lecturer, Allecia Helery.

Participants have great first impressions regarding this event. It was shown through their activeness and intentness. The committee also hopes that the participants can practice the things they have gotten from this program in their daily life so that they can improve themselves through the variety of talent and abilities that could be developed.

Whereas the executing of this event were 1st and 2nd-semester students, who are joined in the Service Learning Community (SLC). This community existed since 2006, but it has just been established in 2014 with the intention of improving students’ positive characteristics through sensitivity towards the society, community-based problem solving, improving skill in communication, cooperation, negotiating and also much other practical learning which will hone the interpersonal skills of the students.
