Our Electrical Engineering Study Program offers an integrated curriculum that will equip you with the fundamental scientific and engineering principles and applications of this discipline, combined with research and development skill that are integral in this field. An Electrical Engineering Graduate has a wide spectrum of career paths in engineering in almost any industry. In a world that rapidly changing because of advancement and innovations in electronics, computing, digital technology, and internet, a competent, enterprising electrical engineer is always in demand. LECTURERS.

Dr. Marincan Pardede,
S.Si., M.Si.

Department Chair of Electrical Engineering
Marincan Pardede received his Bachelor (S.Si.) degree in Physics from North Sumatera University (USU) in 1996. Master and Doctor Degree in Optoelectronic from University of Indonesia, in 1998 and 2003. From 1996 up to now his research field in Applied Atomic Spectroscopy using Laser-Plasma Spectroscopy for elemental analysis besides mechanism of laser-plasma generation. He got several research grants, including the World class Research grant from Indonesian Government (Dikti). From 2003 up to now he joined Dept. of Electrical Eng., Universitas Pelita Harapan.

Dr.-Ing. Ihan Martoyo,
ST, M.Sc., MTS

Lecturer
Ihan Martoyo received his Dr.-Ing. and M.Sc. in electrical engineering from Universitaet Karlsruhe, Germany. Ihan also holds a Master of Theological Studies (MTS) from Duke Divinity School, Duke University, USA.

Ihan Martoyo’s experience includes working in a national satellite communication company, and various research projects with companies and research institutions in Europe. He has also been an exchange researcher in Germany and South Korea. Ihan was the deputy of ICT division in UPH from 2006 to 2008, and was chair of the electrical engineering department UPH from 2008 to 2013, and Executive Director of Center of Research and Community Development UPH since 2017.

Ihan’s research and academic interests include: 3G/4G/5G mobile communication systems (CDMA and OFDM), signals & systems, e-learning practices, wireless sensor networks, chaos theory and social networks. Ihan has also been speaking in churches about contemporary theological issues, social media in society, and biblical studies. Ihan teaches the New Testament and apologetics in the Reformed Seminary (Kemang), Jakarta.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Henri P. Uranus,
MT, IPU

Lecturer
Prof Henri P. Uranus published 19 international journals papers, 67 international conference papers (2 of them are post-deadline papers in prestigious conferences, 1 best paper award), 2 international magazines articles, 12 Indonesian national journals papers, and 32 national conference papers to his credit. His international journal papers got more than 300 citation hits, giving an h-index is 9 (according to the SCOPUS) with his highest-cited paper hits > 90 citations (according to the SCOPUS). He also serves as a regular peer reviewer for several prestigious international journals of IEEE, OSA, and IoP. He is a certified Executive Professional Engineer (IPU) by The Institution of Engineers of Indonesia (PII), senior member of IEEE, and member of The Indonesian Optical Society (InOS).

Ir. Herman Kanalebe,
M.Sc., Ph.D.

Lecturer
Herman Kanalebe was the Dean of Faculty of Industrial Technology from 2008 - 2013. He received his bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Satya Wacana Christian University in 1977 and his M.Sc. from Electrical Engineering Department at Queens University of Belfast U.K. in 1987. He obtained his Ph.D. from the School of Electrical and Information Engineering University of South Australia, in Adelaide 2001. His research interests are Future Mobile Communication Systems, Diversity Schemes, Capacity and Coverage Improvement.

Besides experiencing as a teaching staff in telecommunications field in overseas and national private universities, he also has quite a long industrial experience with a multinational telecommunication company dealing with product approval, technical training and consultation.

As a member of some task forces appointed by telecommunication association and regulation body, he contributed in the study and recommendations of new telecommunication technologies implementation in the country. He has also participated as a member of Indonesian delegation under the Directorate General of Post and Telecommunications to several regional meetings on telecommunication mutual recognition arrangement issues.

Junita,
ST. M., Eng.

Head of Electronics Lab.
Junita obtained her Bachelor (S.T.) degree in electrical engineering from UPH in 2006 and her master in Computer Science from Kyungsung University, Busan, South Korea in 2009. She is currently the Head of Electronics Lab. Her area of research are in wireless sensor networks and small world phenomenon.

Julinda Pangaribuan,
S.Si, MT

Head of Physics Laboratory
Julinda Pangaribuan received her Science degree (S.Si.) in Physics in 1994 from Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan, Indonesia, Master degree in telecommunications in 2004 from University of Trisakti, Jakarta. In 1995 she joined the Electrical Eng. Dept. of Universitas Pelita Harapan as a lecturer. She is now the Head of Physics Laboratory. Her research interests are in planar waveguide and optical fiber as a component on photonic system.

M. Gracio A.R.,
ST, MT

Head of EE Research Lab.
M. Gracio A. R. received his Master degree (MT) in electrical engineering from Universitas Pelita Harapan 2010. He obtained his Bachelor degree in electrical engineering from UPH in 2008 and he joined UPH as an assistant lecturer in 2008. He is now the Full-Time Lecturer in UPH and teaching among others Telecommunication Networks and Wireless Technology. His research interest is in Wireless Sensor Networks. Since 2016, he is the Head of EE research lab.

1st & 3rd Winners in International Smart City Solution Contest.

Two teams of students of Electrical Engineering and Biotech UPH won the first place and second runner up in international Smart City Solution Contest in Technology Infusion Grand Challenge 2020 organized by La Trobe Univ. Australia. The students brought the ideas of "Air-Air: Smart Mask" and "SmartStep: IoT-connected smart tiles"

UPH Electrical Engineering won the first place and third place at the Tech. Infinity 2020 Sumo Robot Contest in Binus ASO, Tangerang, on Nov. 2020

Solar Lantern for Garbage Sorter Community .

4 solar lamp poles were finally erected in The Bintara Trash Dump, Bekasi, on 9 June 2018, helping the community of 200 families to do activities at night.

The 3rd Winner of Sumo Tech Infinity Robot Competition.

UPH Electrical Engineering won the third place at the Infinity Sumo Tech Robot Contest in Binus ASO, Serpong, on November 2018.

After several times of circuit redesign, revision, and testing in UPH campus, 4 solar lamp poles were finally erected in The Bintara Trash Dump, Bekasi, on 9 June 2018 in very dark spots at night. It helps the community of 200 families to do activities at night and will be a pilot project for further implementation in other places in the future.

The 3rd Winner of Sumo Tech Infinity Robot Competition

Within 2 weeks, 6 teams of Electrical Engineering students were formed, producing 6 sumo robots to compete. Two of the robots succeeded to the final round and one of them won the third place at the Infinity Sumo Tech Robot Contest in Binus ASO, Serpong, on November 2018.
