University Mission Statement / UPH Statement
The ultimate mission of UPH is to build an intelligent nation in this globalization era and to develop character with competence in future leaders who revere God for this second millennium. Moreover, UPH emphasizes a balanced and integrated education encompassing science and technology while inspiring moral and spiritual character which produces expert scholar in all fields, wise in their judgments and pious in their personal lives.

Philosophy
Intercollegiate athletics shall be an integral part of the educational program at University of Pelita Harapan. The athletic program and personnel shall be subject to the same mission, goals, and policies of the university as stated in the undergraduate catalog. UPH support equitable opportunity for all student-athletes and staff, including woman and minorities.

Intercollegiate athletics shall promote the character development of participants to enhance the integrity of higher education and to promote civility in society, student-athletes, caches, and all other associated with these athletics programs event should adhere to such fundamental values as respect ,fairness, civility, honesty and responsibility.

University Outcomes

Christlike Character
UPH students will grow toward Christlike; demonstrating ethical behavior, loving and respecting others, offering grace as they have received it, building up the community of Christ, and representing Christ to the world.

Academic Excellence
UPH students will demonstrate understanding and appreciation of the liberal arts, expertise in a major fields of study, and professional growth. Throughout their lives they will endeavor to reach their potential and be transformed by pursuit of knowledge about God and creation.

Creative Engagement
UPH students will apply their natural gifts and acquired knowledge to respond creatively to life; producing original works of arts, new synthesis of knowledge, novel expression of ideas, inspired solutions to problems-in the home, the workplace, the church, and the greater community.

Social Responsiveness
UPH students will be faithful stewards of their knowledge, skills, and resources, and be agents of social justice and divine mercy. Compassionately they will show love for people of all faith and cultures, and identify with and advocate for those in need-locally and globally.

Administrative Control
Intercollegiate athletics shall be administrated by the Board of Trustees, Rector, Athletics Council, Sport Director, Associate Sport Director and Coaching Staff. The responsibilities of the above personnel shall be to:
  1. Maintain and administer policies.
  2. Assure that athletics provide a focus of interest for campus, community, and alumni.
  3. Assure that athletics contribute to UPH basic purpose of encouraging Christian character, commitment and scholarship.
Athletics Program Objectives
  1. As an institution, UPH strongly adheres to the principles of sportsmanship and ethical conduct for athletics staff, Student-athletes and institutional personnel. The athletics program shall sponsor a wide range of activities diversified for men and women, which develop the whole person. This development is best represented by the participant who displays discipline, sportsmanship, and excellence.
  2. The athletic program shall provide athletes he opportunity to grow and develop physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually within the framework of values and ethics considered important to being Christian in today’s society.
  3. The athletics program shall be provide the university community with opportunity and encouragement to display sportsmanship and enthusiasm as spectators at athletics events.
  4. The athletic program shall provide an opportunity for interaction of the university and its publics that will help in student recruitment, institutional image, and public and alumni support.
