The ITTA Foundation honoured him with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to the growth of Indonesia’s tourism industry.

For over 9 years, UPH Rector has been involved in various aspects of Indonesian tourism. In his speech, he explained that he did not create and work to gain praise or appreciation, but to use the talents and opportunities God had given him to do his best work and service.

“Since becoming the President Director of Indosat, I have believed that Indonesia has tremendous potential in the tourism sector, if managed properly, will become one of the most important sectors for the Indonesian economy and can improve people’s welfare. Despite the fact that the current pandemic has disrupted tourism and limited the space for human movement, tourism will undergo a transformation in the future that will also follow the adjustment of world and society developments,” explained the UPH Rector.

Since becoming Rector of UPH, he has continued to encourage and assist tourism and educational development through the UPH Faculty of Tourism (Fpar). He hopes that Indonesian tourism will continue to grow and contribute to the well-being of the community as one of the economic sectors with a diverse range of job opportunities.

“Tourism will continue to be a viable sector of the Indonesian economy and a requirement in modern society. Tourism must evolve in response to global and social/public changes in the future. For this, we will need human resources that can handle it all, as well as tourism education that is always up to date. UPH is prepared to contribute to tourism by providing the best and most excellent education,” said UPH Rector.

The UPH Faculty of Tourism is eager to contribute to the provision of transformational and high-quality education to promote sustainable tourism, and it is dedicated to generating excellent graduates who are concerned about the growth of Indonesian tourism.
