Jurusan Pendidikan Kimia – Fakultas Pendidikan UPH

Jurusan Pendidikan Kimia kami membekali para calon guru dengan kurikulum komprehensif yang berfokus pada pedagogi, kimia dan berbagai subdisiplinnya, mata kuliah umum tentang ilmu pengetahuan terkait (fisika, matematika), serta landasan teologi Kristen. Program wajib Magang akan dipadukan pada semester ke-7 untuk memberikan pengalaman mengajar praktis bagi mahasiswa. Tujuan jurusan Pendidikan Kimia UPH adalah menghasilkan guru kimia yang kompeten untuk mengajar bidang ini dalam konteks budaya Indonesia, serta memiliki pemahaman yang transformatif dan holistis berdasarkan wawasan dunia Kristen dalam kerangka Teologi Reformed.

Chemistry Education.

Our Chemistry Education program equips teachers-in-training with a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on pedagogy, Chemistry and its various sub-disciplines and general courses on related sciences (physics, math), as well as the foundation in Christian theology. A mandatory Internship program is integrated into the 6th semester to give students a practical teaching experience. The aim is to produce Chemistry teachers who are competent in teaching this field within the Indonesian cultural context, as well as having transformative and holistic understanding based on the Christian worldview within the framework of the Reformed Theology.

  • Theories of solubility, electrochemistry, and quantum chemistry
  • Thermodynamics, equilibrium, and chemical kinetics
  • Inorganic structure and reactivity
  • Structure, nature, composition, reaction and synthesis of organic compounds

Kelly Gloria Sinaga,
S.Tp., M.P.Kim.

Department Chair of Chemistry Education
Kelly Gloria Sinaga, S.Tp., M.P.Kim. is the Department Chair of Chemistry Education. She teaches General Chemistry; Basics of Chemistry; Structure, Nomenclature and Reactivity of Organic Compounds; Reactions and Synthesis of Organic Compounds courses. Her research interests include flipp classroom, multiple representation, HOTS, STEM, e-modul, and Student Regulated Learning (SRL). She earned her bachelor's degree in Agriculture Industrial Engineering from Institut Pertanian Bogor and master's degree in Chemistry Teaching from Institut Teknologi Bandung. Apart from teaching at university, she is also a member of Indonesian Chemistry Association (HKI).

M.Si.

Lecturer
Candra Yulius Tahya, M.Si. is a lecturer of Chemistry Education Study Program. He teaches Biochemistry; Structure and Function of Biomolecule; Metabolism, Genetics, and Biochemistry Research; Organic Chemistry; Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, and Kinetics of Chemistry; Organic Chemistry laboratory; Biochemistry Laboratory courses. His research interest includes biochemistry, organic chemistry, biodegradation of waste products, and identification of natural products & its biological activity. He earned his bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Universitas Pattimura and master's degree in Chemistry from Institut Teknologi Bandung. Apart from teaching at university, He is also actively involved in Indonesian Chemistry Association (HKI).

Lecturer
Debora Suryani Sitinjak, M.Pd. is a lecturer of Chemistry Education Study Program. She teaches General Chemistry; General Chemistry Laboratory; Fundamentals of Chemistry Laboratory; Chemical Analytical Instrument; Analytical Chemistry Laboratory; Basic Chemistry Laboratory Techniques; Management of Senior High School Chemistry Laboratory; Fundamentals of Chemical Analysis and Separation Technique courses. Her research interest includes chemistry education, chemistry teaching, Science process skills, and misconception in chemistry. She earned her bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Universitas Negeri Medan and a master's degree in Chemical Education from Universitas Negeri Medan. Apart from teaching at university, she is also actively involved in Indonesian Chemistry Association (HKI).

Chemistry Education Student Council.

Chemistry Education Student Council participates in developing the students’ potencies in their academic and research field, and also developing relation with God and others. Together with the chemistry education department, also preparing students to become a Christian teacher in chemistry teaching who has true knowledge, faith in Christ, and godly characters.

Being a Christ-centered student organization, who contributes to develop students’ potential in academic and research fields, and have a role in relationship with God and neighbour, helping to prepare Chemistry Christian teachers who have true knowledge, faith in Christ, and godly character.
