AISC 2010?, pada hari Kamis, 24 Mei 2018 pukul 14:30 WIB di ruangan B-547, Gedung B, Kampus UPH Karawaci. Acara ini terbuka untuk para dosen, staf, mahasiswa UPH serta publik.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;line-height: 107%;\">Dalam acara ini dijelaskan bahwa masih kurang penggunaan baja di Indonesia untuk menanggulangi bencana gempa bumi. Hal ini cukup memprihatinkan mengingat baja merupakan bahan yang tepat untuk mencegah terjadinya bangunan runtuh saat terjadi gempa. Hal ini dikarenakan baja yang sifatnya kaku dan memiliki ketahanan yang sangat kuat; rasio kuatnya 5.1 ? 7, dibandingkan beton 0.9-2.3. Beton hanya kuat pada tekanan, sedangkan tarik dipukul baja.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;line-height: 107%;\">Beberapa keuntungan dari baja adalah; kecepatan dalam merakit dan juga fleksibel untuk proyek dengan keterbatasan seperti contoh lokasi yang sempit. Tetapi harga baja yang mahal dan juga butuhnya perencanaan yang lebih kompleks, menyebabkan banyak kontraktor di Indonesia lebih memilih beton dibandingkan baja.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;line-height: 107%;\">Indonesia merupakan salah satu dari tiga negara yang sangat rawan bencana gempa di dunia, negara lainnya adalah Jepang dan Selandia Baru. Tetapi Jepang merupakan negara yang sangat meperhatikan kondisi struktur bangunan mereka agar tahan gempa dikarenakan 25% penduduk Jepang tinggal di Tokyo, yang dipenuhi oleh banyak bangunan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;line-height: 107%;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;line-height: 107%;\">Pada kesempatan ini Wirjanto mengajak untuk belajar dari cara Jepang menghadapi gempa. 20% gempa di dunia terjadi di perairan Jepang, hal ini terbilang lebih rendah dibandingkan Indonesia dengan pencapaian angka 25%, akan tetapi lokasi Jepang yang tergolong kecil mengakibatkan dampak yang diberikan lebih besar daripada Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;line-height: 107%;\">Ia menyebutkan cara-cara yang dilakukan Jepang dalam menghadapi gempa mulai dari: 1. Menetapkan batasan tinggi bangunan, yaitu tidak boleh lebih dari 60 lantai, 2. Pemakaian material dalam konstruksi bangunannya, mereka mewajibkan pemakaian baja pada bangunan besar dan tinggi, beton hanya digunakan untuk bangunan kecil dan rendah, 3. Teknologi khusus peredam gempa sebagai upaya pertahanan negara.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;line-height: 107%;\">Sedangkan untuk Selandia Baru menurut Wirjanto, mereka menggunakan ?<em>base-isolation<\/em>? yaitu konstruksi portal beton di atas <em>base isolation<\/em> yang menjadi sistem utama tahan gempa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;line-height: 107%;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;line-height: 107%;\">?Jepang dan Selandia Baru sudah bersikap tegas memilih konstruksi baja untuk menghadapi gempa dan mereka mengkaji sungguh ? sungguh keandalan sistem konstruksi bangunan agar setelah gempa, bangunan dapat diperbaiki dan dipakai kembali dengan cepat.? jelas Wirjanto.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;line-height: 107%;\">Apabila menggunakan beton maka akan susah untuk inspeksi dan perbaikan kembali, dan pada akhirnya harus dibongkar ulang, yang akan memakan banyak waktu dan tenaga. Hal ini tentunya sangat merugikan perekonomian negara karena banyak aktivitas bisnis yang terhenti, dan ini sangat dirasakan oleh Jepang yang mempunyai kerugian yang sangat besar apabila terjadi gempa karena lokasinya yang kecil dan rawan gempa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;line-height: 107%;\">?Kalau di Indonesia mereka memiliki moto bahwa bangunan boleh rusak asalkan penghuni selamat, padahal sebetulnya banyak korban jiwa juga, hal ini sangat kontras dengan Jepang dan Selandia Baru yang mempunyai prinsip bahwa keselamatan jiwa dan konstruksi bangunan harus sama pentingnya, karena dengan kontruksi bangunan yang tepat maka keselamatan jiwa juga akan tercapai. Di Indonesia, peraturan bangunan tahan gempa belom memakai <em>control system<\/em> \/ <em>damper.<\/em>? lanjut Wirjanto.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;line-height: 107%;\">Selanjutnya dalam seminar ini juga dijelaskan tentang prinsip kerja dan keandalan bangunan tahan gempa, kategori sistem bangunan tahan gempa, dan juga CODE bangunan tahan gempa yang disetujui pemerintah Indonesia dalam membangun bangunan, sehingga apabila insinyur mengikuti CODE tersebut maka jika terjadi bangunan yang runtuh karena gempa ia tidak dapat disalahkan dan merupakan suatu musibah yang tidak dapat dihindari.
