Selama satu pekan, Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) menyelenggarakan ?Mentoring Week?<\/em> dengan beragam rangkaian acara menarik pada 19-23 Maret 2018, seperti Carnival Game <\/em>yaitu <\/span>Brain Rush<\/span><\/em>, Escape Room<\/em> ?Candy Crush<\/span><\/em> Game?<\/span><\/em>, <\/span><\/em>dan kompetisi yang terbuka untuk publik ?speed eating?.  <\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

?Mentoring Week?<\/span><\/em> ini juga menjadi acara penutupan satu tahun kepengurusan mentor periode 2017\/2018 dan diakhiri dengan malam penganugerahan ?Exemplary Mentor Award?<\/em> pada 23 Maret 2018 di Gedung C ruang 402, UPH Lippo Village.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Exemplary Mentor <\/span><\/em>adalah sebutan untuk mentor yang menjadi contoh untuk para mentor lainnya. Predikat ini diberikan untuk mentor yang memenuhi kriteria yang ditetapkan oleh kordinator program ini yaitu Divisi Student Services<\/em> yang ada di Departemen Student Life<\/em>  UPH.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ada lima kriteria yang dievaluasi dari setiap mentor, pertama yaitu commitment<\/em>, diukur melalui kualitas mereka dalam menjaga komunikasi dengan para mentor, dimana mentor yang mampu menjaga komunikasi dengan seluruh mentee mendapatkan poin tertinggi atau disebut ?full commitment?. Kategori kedua Competence,<\/em> mentor diharapkan mampu membimbing, memberikan feedback <\/em> bagi para mentee, mampu memahami karakter mentee dan diharapkan mampu menjadi problem solver<\/em>. Ketiga yaitu character<\/em>, mentor harus mampu menjadi role model<\/em> dilihat dari track record<\/em> mereka sebagai mahasiswa harus bersih dan mampu menjadi contoh pemimpin yang benar. Keempat, compassion<\/em>, mentor harus mampu menunjukkan perhatian tulus dan tidak memandang mentee<\/em> lebih inferior. Kelima discipline<\/em>, mentor harus menjadi orang yang bertanggung jawab, tepat waktu, dan mengikuti kegiatan Self-D<\/em> (Self Development) <\/em>dan membuat laporannya. <\/span><\/p>\n

Menurut Felix,  Teknik Sipil 2014, yang juga sebagai Head Mentor<\/em> tahun 2017\/2018, malam penganugerahan ini sebagai apresiasi terhadap kinerja mentor, dan kali ini merupakan malam penganugerahan ketiga.  Proses penilaian dilakukan dengan cara para Chief Mentor<\/em> memilih 3 nama mentor untuk setiap fakultas. Nama tersebut diberikan kepada Head Mentor, <\/em>dan para Head Mentor<\/em> memilih masing-masing 1 nama untuk perwakilan tiap fakultas yang berhak menerima ?Exemplary Mentor?<\/em>.  Sehingga total ada 9 nama penerima award dalam acara tersebut. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Program Mentoring<\/em> sendiri setiap tahunnya akan membentuk satu kepengurusan besar. Untuk tahun 2017\/2018 ini Felix menjelaskan struktur program mentoring yang terdiri dari: 6 Head Mentor, <\/em>36 Chief Mentor, <\/em>dan216 mentor. Head Mentor<\/em> bertugas sebagai perencana program kerja dan berkordinasi langsung dengan Departemen Student Life<\/em>.  Chief Mentor<\/em> bertugas sebagai organisator program agar program berjalan lancar sekaligus menjadi jembatan antara Head Mentor<\/em> dengan para mentor. Selanjutnya mentor yang bertugas sebagai eksekutor program dan berhubungan langsung dengan para mentee<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Felix berharap seluruh mentor tetap dapat menghidupi semangatnya menjadi mentor dan agar  peran mereka sebagai mentor tidak berhenti sampai saat ini saja, tapi terus berlanjut hingga akhir masa studi mereka, bahkan pengembangan yang mereka dapat dari program mentor ini diharapkan dapat berguna juga bagi masa depan mereka.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Felix yang juga pernah menjadi mentor mengaku mendapatkan banyak manfaat melalui program mentoring di UPH. <\/span><\/p>\n

?Bagi saya menjadi mentor bukan soal berhasil atau tidak, tapi apakah kita mampu setia atau tidak membimbing para mentee<\/em> kita. Program mentoring<\/em> ini begitu penting, bayangkan para mahasiswa baru yang memasuki dunia barunya di perkuliahan dan belum mengetahui harus bagaimana menjadi mahasiswa, dan belum mengenal banyak orang, pasti akan bingung. Tapi melalui program mentoring  ini, mahasiswa baru akan dibantu dan dibimbing dalam menghadapi aktifitas kuliah khususnya di tahun  pertama mereka. Fokus mentoring<\/em> sendiri juga bukan hanya berkaitan dengan akademik, tapi lebih dari itu yaitu Self-development<\/em>,? ungkap Felix.
