Perkembangan teknologi juga memungkinkan tersampaikannya konten-konten menarik berupa teks, gambar, audio, dan video yang dapat memberikan informasi secara jelas tentang produk maupun jasa yang ditawarkan. Tidak terkecuali sosial media juga banyak digunakan oleh industri pariwisata.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Potensi sosial media sebagai sarana promosi interaktif bagi pariwisata Indonesia menjadi topik penelitian menarik dan sangat dibutuhkan dalam upaya&nbsp; meningkatkan industri pariwisata.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Sebuah penelitian tentang penggunaan sosial media terhadap intensi perilaku <em>traveler<\/em> Indonesia juga dilakukan &nbsp;oleh Theodosia C Nathalia, dosen Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Pelita Harapan (STPPH) dalam disertasi-nya yang berjudul ?Investigasi Peranan Motivasi Dalam Memediasi Faktor-faktor Pendorong Penggunaan Media Sosial Terhadap Intensi Perilaku Traveler Indonesia?.&nbsp; Berdasarkan survei kepada responden <em>traveler <\/em>Indonesia dalam disertasi ini, ditemukan <em>Instagram<\/em> sebagai jejaring sosial yang paling banyak digunakan, selanjutnya <em>facebook<\/em> . Alasan para <em>traveler<\/em> suka menggunakan sosial media ini karena konten dari <em>Instagram<\/em> lebih menarik dengan tampilan <em>layout<\/em>, gambar dan tingkat privasi yang tinggi. Alasan lainnya karena karakteristik <em>traveler<\/em> Indonesia suka menggunakan sosial media sebagai media menyimpan kenangan.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<td>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<td>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-96\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uph.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/images_news_2018_03_capture-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"522\" height=\"384\" \/><\/div>\n<div>sumber:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/nicholassaputra\/\">www.instagram.com\/nicholassaputra\/<\/a>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"3\">\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">Konten yang diposting&nbsp;<\/span><em style=\"text-align: justify;\">traveler&nbsp;<\/em><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">di sosial media memberikan kontribusi yang cukup signifikan tidak saja terhadap bisnis jasa pariwisata, namun juga memberikan keuntungan kepada wisatawan yang akan melakukan wisata, diantaranya berupa informasi tentang kualitas layanan, pengalaman, sampai variasi harga yang menarik.&nbsp;<\/span>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Untuk mencapai tujuan dari pariwisata, ternyata karakteristik pesan yang disampaikan melalui sosial media, berperan penting dalam membentuk kepercayaan terhadap informasi yang diberikan. Hal ini dibuktikan dalam disertasi yang dilakukan Theodosia, bahwa dalam konteks pemenuhan informasi bagi traveler maka kualitas argumen memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motif pencarian informasi<em>.&nbsp; Traveler<\/em>&nbsp;Indonesia membutuhkan informasi yang dilengkapi dengan data-data yang akurat, relevan, komplit dengan konsistensi informasi yang jelas, untuk membantu&nbsp;<em>traveler&nbsp;<\/em>memilah informasi yang berguna dan diminati. Selain kualitas argumen, faktor penting dalam pencarian informasi para&nbsp;<em>traveler<\/em>&nbsp;adalah kredibilitas sumber. Menarik dari penelitian ini, Theodosia menemukan bahwa kompetensi tidak selalu didasari pengetahuan dan keahlian sumber saja, melainkan adanya pengaruh seseorang terhadap orang lain, contohnya yang paling diminati responden adalah informasi yang dibagikan oleh&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>public figure<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">Melalui disertasinya Theodosia merekomendasikan kepada para profesional bidang pariwisata untuk berpartisipasi dan berkontribusi dalam berbagai forum kepariwisataan serta mensosialisasikan penggunaan media sosial secara maksimal sebagai media untuk memperkenalkan destinasi wisata &nbsp;Indonesia. Lebih lanjut ia merekomendasikan kepada pemerintah untuk &nbsp;lebih aktif menggunakan media sosial dengan menggunakan&nbsp;<\/span><em style=\"text-align: justify;\">brand ambassador<\/em><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;yaitu&nbsp;<\/span><em style=\"text-align: justify;\">public figure<\/em><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;dengan memiliki kemampuan serta pengaruh yang baik sehingga dapat meningkatkan daya tarik masyarakat terhadap destinasi wisata Indonesia.
