Business School UPH become the first winner and deserved the trophy after successfully surpassed the University of Surabaya in the second and third position at the National Accounting Challenge (NAC) PKN (STAN State Polytechnic) competition <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Business School UPH become the first winner and deserved the trophy after successfully surpassed the University of Surabaya in the second and third position at the National Accounting Challenge (NAC) PKN (STAN State Polytechnic) competition on 3-8 September 2017 at Campus PKN STAN, Bintaro. Business School UPH is represented by Alexander Dylan, 2014, Calvina, 2014, and Heidy Natalia Kindy, 2014.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The NAC PKN STAN (National Accounting Challenge 2017) NAC Competition was attended by 161 teams, with approximately 70 universities from 18 provinces, among them the leading universities participating, such as Universitas Indonesia (3 teams), Universitas Surabaya (3 team), Multimedia Nusantara University, Padjadjaran University, Bina Nusantara University, and others.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

25 teams which made their way into the main rounds competed in the preliminary round which consisted of the two rounds; the first half is a round of work auditing in a group, and the second half each team presented their worksheets and had to answer challenging questions from the judges. Through this elimination, 20 universities were selected to the next round. In the preliminary round, UPH occupies the first position with 269.7 points.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The competition continued with the ‘Company Visit & Corporate Challenge’ round, where this round is a self-actualization competition. Participants should be able to position themselves as part of the company that must be responsible for solving the company’s problems. In this round each team is challenged to not only use the knowledge gained during college, but how they should be able to take part in the real world of work and implement their practical abilities. Through this round were selected 10 teams to advance to the round of ‘Thinkfast Challenge’.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

‘Think fast Challenge’, is a stage to challenge participants to think quickly in solving accounting problems in a limited time. Through this stage, 5 universities with the highest score for the final round are selected. Back to this round, UPH placed in the first position with 513 points.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The first position was successfully maintained by UPH team to the grand finale. In this grand final round, each team is faced with the ‘Accounting Future Issue Challenge’, which is a presentation of scientific work themed “IFRS 16, A New Face of Leasing Policy and Its Influence for Indonesia?. UPH team successfully passed this grand final round and became the first winner in the national competition, and managed to bring home the championship trophy with a prize of Rp 20.000.000.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

According to Antonius Herusetya, Ak., MM, Head of UPH Accounting Faculty Study Program., joining such a competition can be used as a learning process for them as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“For about 6 days our students who joined the NAC 2017 competition organized by PKN STAN, we see good results from the learning process through competition, students learn new things directly and indirectly, both academically and non-academically. In the process of competition preparation, they need to be diligent, discipline and force themselves to learn new things beyond their textbook. Their knowledge becomes wider and they have new friends from different provinces and universities. This experience is certainly could not found in the classrooms and this is very good for their future, “said Antonius.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Antonius also hopes that in the future, Business School students can join other prestigious competitions both nationally and internationally. So they can explore the abilities they have and be a blessing to everyone through their accomplishments. Through this process, Antonius also wants the students to continue to learn to be more humble and always trying the best for God’s glory. To God be the glory. (mt)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
