The series of UPH XXXI Graduation was completed on June 17, 2017, at the Grand Chapel UPH. This graduation ceremony was held for the last batch with a total of 867 graduates from Faculty of Design, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FaST), Business School, Faculty of Liberal Arts, and School of Hospitality and Tourism (STTPH). In total, UPH has inaugurated 1.908 graduates, with 12 graduates from International Teachers College.<\/p>\n

On the same occasion, Founder of UPH, Dr. (Hc) James delivered a graduation message for all graduates.<\/p>\n

?To be successful is to have vision. In life, you must have a certain vision. A vision that sees further, deeper, and more advanced than the others,? said James.<\/p>\n

James delivered this message while thinking about his experience. Since he was little, James has always been reminded about the importance of vision in his life. Hence, he also emphasized that graduates should have a greater vision than just being successful. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

?I have no doubt that all of you will be a successful person in the future. But actually, what is a success? Success is not just about money, connection, degree, and those kinds of things. Success means to have a life committed to God. Through education that we have obtained in life, we understand that education is more than just about the academic record; it?s also about the whole aspects of life. Because of that, Yayasan Pendidikan Pelita Harapan is present as a comprehensive educational institution, in academics as well as other aspects, in order to be more impactful. In here, there are science related majors, as well as those in relation to humanity and liberal arts. All of these choices are provided for everyone to have the equal opportunity to obtain true knowledge, true faith, and by the end, all of you may bear the fruit of holy life,? James explained.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

James also challenged the graduates to make a choice, whether to have the vision to live for the world or a vision to live for God and to use their talents and abilities for His glory.<\/p>\n

Aside from a graduation message, Founder UPH, Dr. (Hc) James Riady also inaugurated four graduates of Masters of Hospital Management.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Among the graduates of UPH Master of Hospital Management program, there is Monica Lembong Suryapranata, M.M.MMRS., who had graduated with 3,68 GPA. Today, she served as the Chief Operation Officer Siloam Hospitals. In order to achieve her Master degree, she has completed a thesis with the title ?The Impact of Service Quality on BPJS Patient Satisfaction BPJS at Siloam General Hospital?. <\/p>\n

At the same occasion, Evan Wijaya, S.Dn. as a graduate with the highest GPA for Undergraduate program, was also delivered his speech. As a graduate of Visual Communication Design Department of School of Design, Evan conveyed that he is very grateful to God for his graduation. He said that the dynamics he experienced in UPH and all the processes he has undergone had opened his mind and encouraged him to dedicate himself to fulfill his calling and to take a part in our respective field. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

?We are part of a generation who has the ability to bring restorative change for many. We must become a generation with dedication, as well as a generation of holistic, faithful individuals who have the heart to serve others; in conclusion, a professional generation. For us who have graduated, we have to become impactful young professionals. If you graduated as doctors, then be a doctor who is willing to serve others. And for me as an undergraduate in design, I want to encourage all of us to become young creative designers, who are able to inspire others, move the era, and to instill life values. Thus, let us all be responsible in living our lives, which has been gifted to us by God,? said Evan.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

This graduation ceremony also closed all graduations for 2016\/2017 academic year, and through Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.SC., UPH hopes that all graduates are able to live within the vision UPH has given to them and to be a blessing for everyone, where ever they may be.  <\/p>\n

?UPH?s vision is not just for the institution itself, but it is to be implemented for every individual in it. Keep becoming an impact and be the agent of change, and keep growing with the talents God has given for each of you. Grow your potentials to its fullest and be the light and the channel of blessing for others,? said UPH Rector.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
