This was stated by Caroline Riady, CEO and Deputy President Director of Siloam Hospitals Group, the keynote speaker of the Leader Speaker Series which was held at Business School UPH, July 18, 2017, at Grand Chapel UPH Karawaci, Tangerang, which brought ?Healthcare Management? as its topic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">According to Caroline, in any business, including healthcare business, quality is the key aspect that has to come first.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">?Business in the healthcare sector needs does not only require doctors, nurses and so forth. But in order for the business to run well, supporting Human Resources is also required, things requirement also applies to the management of one hospital, as well as other healthcare business. Thus, this opens up a great opportunity for students outside the healthcare sector,? explained Caroline in front of more than 1000 students of Business School UPH.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">In relation to the need of Human Resources in healthcare, such as nurses, doctors, radiologists, pharmacists as well as management, Caroline believes that the involvement of educational institution is equally important. <\/span>UPH<span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"> is one of the educational institutions that support Siloam Hospitals by preparing its graduates to be their Human Resources.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Therefore, she hopes that the collaboration between university and hospital must be in line. In this case, in preparing human resources for the health sector, the university has to equip its students with skills, experience as well as values of humanity.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-51\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uph.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/images_Caroline_riady.jpg\" alt=\"Caroline_riady.jpg\" width=\"408\" height=\"272\" \/>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<td>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">?We have to produce Human Resources with skills, experience, and most importantly, we really hope that all workers managed to enter the health sector, both in the higher as well as the lower level, has to understand the healthcare services in Indonesia and have a heart for the patients,? she emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Caroline also explains the vision of Siloam Hospitals in undergoing the healthcare business; they are International Quality; Reach, which means that Siloam Hospital is willing to reach for all society level in Indonesia; Scale, which means that their scale of service is aimed to achieve clinical and expertise excellent; and lastly and most importantly is Godly Compassion, or serving all kinds of people with compassion.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">In relation to that vision, Caroline also talked about a number of things which have been done by Siloam Hospitals in living this vision, one of them is by supporting government?s program such as BPJS. The BPJS program is in line with the vision of Siloam; that is to reach for all society level in Indonesia and provide them with a quality healthcare.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">?We are very happy with the BPSJ program because, with this program, everyone has the opportunity to access healthcare services. Thus, in order to support the improvement of this program, Siloam has been doing an expansion in all regions of Indonesia. Certainly, this expansion leads to the need for more quality human resources. Now, this is an opportunity for all of you, because Siloam needs more than just health expertise. Thus, your expertise as a graduate of Business School <\/span>UPH<span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"> will also be needed to manage Siloam. Right now, we really need an educational institution that can produce qualified graduates, who are able to support Siloam,?
