Dapatkah kita memiliki sensor atau transduser yang terbuat dari sesuatu yang alami dan berkelanjutan, tetapi diproduksi dengan teknologi sederhana? Pertanyaan-pertanyaan ini dijawab oleh Dr. Dedy Wicaksono, dosen senior dari Universitas Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) dalam kuliah tamu yang diadakan oleh Program Studi Teknik Elektro pada 22 September 2016. Kuliah tamu kali ini merupakan bagian dari rangkaian program kuliah tamu dan terintegrasi dengan seminar mingguan Prodi Teknik Elektro UPH.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 15.3333px;\">Kelompok riset yang dipimpin Dr. Wicaksono dari UTM dikenal sebagai perintis dalam mikrofluida dan&nbsp;<em>MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical System)&nbsp;<\/em>&nbsp;berbahan dasar katun. Selain banyaknya hasil riset tentang sensor biokimia berbasis katun, pada kesempatan ini, Dr. Wicaksono juga memaparkan hasil kerja grup risetnya dalam bidang transduser MEMS berbasis katun. Serat-serat dalam katun menyediakan struktur kapiler untuk dirembesi larutan yang mengandung nano-partikel, sementara lilin yang secara tradisional digunakan dalam proses produksi batik digunakan dalam produksi MEMS ini sebagai&nbsp; tameng (<em>mask<\/em>) yang menghalangi cairan keluar dari pola. Dengan menggunakan teknik&nbsp;<em>wax patterning and soaking<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>pipetting<\/em>, dan&nbsp;<em>stamping<\/em>, timnya membuat resistor yang fleksibel (mengingat materialnya terbuat dari kain katun atau&nbsp;<em>cotton-based<\/em>) dari&nbsp;<em>silver-nano- particle<\/em>. Resistor tersebut sensitif terhadap keregangan (<em>strain-sensitive<\/em>), sehingga cocok untuk digunakan sebagai sensor&nbsp;<em>MEMS<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<table style=\"height: 176px; width: 1180px;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr style=\"height: 13px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 716.91px; height: 13px;\">\n<table style=\"height: 144px; width: 1180px;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 222.896px;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/news\/2016\/10\/16  -cont-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"209\" height=\"118\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 8pt; line-height: 12.2667px;\">Dr. Dedy Wicaksono<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 1180px;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 15.3333px;\">Dr. Wicaksono juga menunjukkan beberapa aplikasi dari alat yang dibuat, antara lain untuk inklinometer, sensor klik pada&nbsp;<em>human-computer interface&nbsp;<\/em>glove (sarung tangan pengganti<em>&nbsp;mouse<\/em>&nbsp;pada komputer), dan sensor untuk pengukuran sudut kemiringan panggul tubuh manusia.
