 The term Eco or Go-Industry is a commonly discussed issue, but there are still only a few individuals who execute real actions to realize this. Eco-industry is a waste and excess energy treatment system which is integrated from several industries. Waste from an industry can be used as raw material or fuel for other industries. Even at the end of the day, it can be managed to the point where there will be no waste in an eco-industry system. This issue has actually been long echoed, even socialized, to slow down earth?s breakdown. This condition becomes the background for Student Association of Industrial Engineering Technique to carry the theme ?Kill Your Ego, Build Your Eco?, for the 8th<\/sup> EFiCn which was held on May 9-12, 2016 at Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) Campus, Karawaci, Lippo Village.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was mentioned by Vanessa Darvin Gaspersz, Head of Internal Events for The 8th EFiCn, that there are still a lot of people who do not realize the impact of a product on the environment. People can only complain, without realizing the root of the problem and without willing to make the action.<\/span><\/p>\n

“This is what we carry in this eighth EfiCn, where participants from universities who manage to enter the finals will later conduct a case study to CV. Sinar Jaya Plastic which processes plastic waste into plastic grains. To put it simple, through this event we want to foster awareness of the participants that plastics can become something more useful. Moreover, of course through this event, I also hope that students from various universities will be able to get to know each other, practicing sportsmanship through the competition, and can benefit from the insights gained,? Vanessa said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Certainly this event that has been organized by the Student Association of Industrial Engineering has received the full support from the faculty and Department of Industrial Engineering UPH. Laurence, S.T., M.T., as Head of the Department for Industrial Engineering UPH, gave his appreciation to the committee who prepared the EFiCn and also the participants who have come from various universities.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n
  <\/p>\n

“I am grateful to you who have prepared this event, and also the participants who have come from various places and universities. I hope that through this event, a positive relationship will be established. Take advantage of your time here to explore and share insights with each other,” Laurence said during the opening series of EFiCn events.<\/span><\/p>\n

EFiCn itself is an annual event from Industrial Engineering which consists of national level competitions, seminars, visits to related industries, and Festival. For three days, the 11 participating universities will follow the whole series of events. The eleven universities, among others are Al-Azhar, Atma Jaya, Universitas Diponegoro, Gadjah Mada, Universitas Diponegoro, Gadjah Mada, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Krida Wacana, Universitas Kristen Petra, Universitas Presiden, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Universitas Telkom, and UPH.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In addition to a series of EFiCn events which lasted for three days, the organizers have also set up other additional event, which is 5k Splash Run, where every five people who register will donate one tree. All accumulated trees are planted in the field of Tangerang local government, and the event is not just limited to the UPH internal, but also for the public.<\/span><\/p>\n
