2016 begins by UPH welcoming 84 new employees through the NEO at 6 to 7 January 2016. 84 new employees consists of 42 professors and assistant professors, and 42 staff. Through this NEO, UPH also welcome 6 of 84 employees from UPH Medan. NEO aims to provide briefing and introduction of what became the basis UPH?s mission and vision, as well as an introduction to some of the department which is owned by UPH to new employees.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The first day briefing was given by the leaders of UPH is the UPH Rector Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M. Eng, Sc., President UPH, Raymond Liu, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Connie Rasilim, S.S., B.Ed, M Pd., Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, Ainon Manan and Director of the Human Resources Development Unit and Law, Feteriadi, S. Kom., M.A.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Through the initial introduction session of by Raymond Liu, Ph.D., all employees who attended were reminded to re-interpret the meaning of our lives as God’s creatures, and also about our vocation.<\/span> <\/p>\n

After the introduction session, the next session is given by Jonathan L. Parapak as rector UPH. Jonathan provide an introduction to the vision and mission of UPH, Christian Worldview, Statement of Faith to the employee. He outlined that the vision and mission of UPH is the result of the call given by God to the founder of UPH, Dr. (HC) Johannes Oentoro, Ph.D and Dr. (HC) James T. Riady to address the problems of education in Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

The next session was given by Connie Rasilim with the theme of Christian Education and Learning “.”Changing the educational practices is similar to cleaning streams, it should start from the basis that upstream or idea or thought that is right “said Connie. To have the right thinking, Connie confirms that we must be aware of our identity in the image of God.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>The next three sessions were presented by Ainon Mananyang who shares his experience in working with the theme of the session UPH “Vision-Mision History”. In his session, Ainon remind the work must not be detrimental to peace and a time for the family. “For me, UPH will be the last place I work at,” said Ainon ending the story and invites employees to watch videos of Pelita Harapan Education Yasasan development.<\/span> <\/p>\n

For the fourth session, Feteriadi presented the theme “Pursuing Meaningful Work” where Feter wants to encourage employees to become an impact and blessing to the work. “As humans we actually have to work, because God is not pleased at people who are lazy. In working, let our goal be to glorify God. I also hope that we all work in accordance with our clear call, so we all will feel joy, able to develop our talents, and always work based on the love of God.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

The last session on the first day of the NEO was closed by Hendra Thamrindinata, S.Si., M.Div Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts companion who explains what is Liberal Arts, and how to integrate and apply the material to the students.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In addition to getting a briefing from the leaders, on the second day NEO employees were also given an introduction related to several things: Advantages and regulations for employees delivered by Dra. Erna Salim, M.M., Performances improvement Management System (PIMS) as a benchmark for performance evaluation of employees by the HRD Sucipoto Asan, LP2MP (Institute of Education Development and Quality Assurance) by Dr. Lusiana Idawati, S.T., M.M., M.T., together with other team members, then the introduction of the Center of Faculty Development, which consists of a library, EduTech, Laps (Lecturer Academic Pathway), and Adak (Administrative Academic), introduction to IT and programs or any application that can be hosted by Soegandi D. Oetomo Kom., M.M. On the second day these employees are also introduced to the Center for Research and Community Developmentoleh Eric Jobiliong, Ph.D. Lastly introduction followed by Novel Priyatna, S.E., M.Th who explains about Student Life.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The end of the NEO was closed with the active participation of the participants in a Question and Answer session with the leadership of UPH who is represented by Raymond Liu, Connie Rasilim, and Ainon Manan trying to answer a variety of questions from the participants and also the distribution of certificates to the new employees. In the future, according to Feteriadi, UPH target on receiving 180 new employees, 120 candidates and 60 candidates faculty staff. (Mt\/mf)<\/span><\/p>\n
