The second day of the Stay Away Campaign: No S.A.D.<\/strong> <\/em>(Sex, Smoking, Alcohol, Drugs) Be SMART <\/strong><\/em>(Study, Maturity, Abstinence, Responsibility, Talent), were lively by mini talk shows and art performances of the UPH Department of Art.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

One of the key note speakers in the Interactive Dialogue is Connie Rasilim, Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, opened the topic of free sex, which is one of the issues in the phenomenon of ‘SAD’. According to Connie, it is true that the access to free sex, alcohol, and drugs during this time is very easy when compared to the past. For that, in the face of ever-changing world, Connie stated that the younger generation must find the root of the problem, either by knowing the exact self-identity, and what is to be done in this world. She further explained her views on free sex in the Stay Away Campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

According to Connie, sex is definitely not just talking about women, but also men. However, often appearing on the surface are women as victims, because then, at the end when it comes to the case, it is women who will be pregnant. “That’s why again I will remind that it is important to know the identity of self, especially we who believe in God. As a Christian, I believe that I am a creation of Christ. Furthermore, by knowing the identity, we can know our role. So our lives are not determined opinions of others, and God loves me,” said Connie. Connie also underlined that the real challenge is not just about women as victims, but men. In accordance with the Bible, men are the one who would become head of the family later, because of that it is every mankind of both women and men must know clearly their identity and role.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Furthermore, Connie also stated the importance of having the right strategy in building community in the society, so that it can perform the role properly. “Women must have the right community as one of the strategies. As it is written in the Bible, bad association will ruin good habits, so women have to know where the right community is. For me this event is great, because UPH has put a very serious position that sex, alcohol, and drugs are things that do not glorify God. Going forward, as women we should be more prudent in making the correct choices and foremost is that each of us must struggle and deep rooted in Christ, according to the theme UPH year’s Grow Deeper in Christ,” said Connie as the end of an interactive dialogue together with the Ambassadors of the UPH.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This event was followed by various performances from the UPH Art Divisions, some of which are Lighthouse Band, Dream Band and SFS Dance, as well as Ambassadors of UPH finalists who were also present. (Mt\/Mf)<\/span><\/p>\n
