On Monday, October 21, 2015, The Faculty of Nursing of UPH held an oath pledge which was more commonly referred as profession inauguration for the 5th<\/sup> batch, to 51 graduates whom had completed the practical profession program. This practical profession program is a requirement for bachelor of nursing to attain nursing profession degree, by doing practice as nursing for one year at a hospital. In this profession program, UPH bachelor of nursing was placed in Siloam Hospitals, several partner hospitals of UPH Faculty of Nursing and other health units. <\/span><\/p>\n

These UPH nurses consisted of students from two different program, ETP (Entry to Practice) and CC (Conversion Class). Unlike the past years, this year there was seven best graduates which consisted of four ETP students: Benedictus Paskalit Dasit (3.76), Gloria Anne Saragih (3.76), Agung Erdiyanto Putro (3.73) and Febe Wisnu Talia (3.66) and three CC students: Maria Christina Manullang (3.82), Eva Suryanti Rajagukguk (3.80) and Cicilia (3.79).<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This oath pledge was attended by graduates families, representative of PPNI (Persatuan Perawat Nasional Indonesia), religious leader, several hospitals guests, and FON UPH lecturers and staff. The oath pledge inauguration begun with a Christian worship. In his sermon, Mr. Albert M Moore (UPH Chaplain) reminded all the graduates that as a nurse, they are not merely the helper and messenger of doctors. ?Nurses have bigger responsibilities in the healing process of the patient. Aside from that, the most important thing is that being a nurse is a higher calling that requires humility in serving a patient. Thus, a nurse has to pray all the time and they should live from the fear of the Lord, so that a nurse is able to give compassion which she\/he had gotten from God to be shared with their patients,?
