Tak kenal maka tak sayang. Pada hari pertama UPH Festival, mahasiswa baru diperkenalkan dengan para kaka senior yang akan membantu mereka selama masa orientasi di UPH Festival. Mahasiswa senior ini tergabung dalam kelompok mentor yang telah dipersiapkan khusus untuk mendampingi adik-adik kelasnya. Melalui sesi perkenalan ini diharapkan dapat terjalin relasi yang baik, ada keterbukaan dan saling percaya.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Perkenalan mentor dan mentee pada acara UPH Festival hari pertama berlangsung dari pukul 13.00 sampai 16.00 WIB. Mereka dikumpulkan berdasarkan fakultas dan jurusan masing-masing. Ada sekitar 500 mentor yang akan mendampingi para mahasiswa baru. Masing-masing mentor bertanggungjawab untuk 5-10 junior. pada sesi ini para mentor diberi kesempatan untuk kenal lebih dekat dengan para mentee. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Program mentoring salah satu keunikan UPH. Karena program mentor ini diberikan untuk mahasiswa baru yang akan memasuki tahun akademik baru.Tujuannya adalah tidak hanya agar mahasiswa merasa seperti di rumah saat belajar di UPH namun juga untuk membantu perkembangan tingkah laku yang positif, karakter, kedewasaan serta kepemimpinan yang akan membantu pengalaman belajar mereka selama di UPH. Implementasi dari program mentoring dibawakan oleh para staff, dosen, dan juga mentor mahasiswa. Kesuksesan program ini dikarenakan masing-masing mentor adalah  mahasiswa ? mahasiswa yang direkrut dan dipilih menurut partisipasi aktif mereka selama tahun akademik sebelumnya. Mentor dipasangkan dengan para mahasiswa baru menurut jurusan mereka masing-masing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Salah satu senior mentor, Silvi, Arsitek 2012, mengatakan bahwa sebagai mentor bukan berarti sudah lebih hebat dari juniornya. ?Kami dipilih menjadi mentor karena kami sudah melewati masa-masa di tahun pertama yang penuh perjuangan,  untuk menyesuaikan diri dari cara belajar di SMA ke sistem perkuliahan,? kata Silvi.(rh)<\/span><\/div>\n
