On Saturday, 21 March 2015, approximately 250 people filled up the Usmar Ismail Hall to witness a performance from the well-known professional pianist, Kazuha Nakahara, who is also a classical piano lecturer at Conservatory of Music UPH <\/p>\n

On Saturday, 21 March 2015, approximately 250 people came to Usmar Ismail Hall to enjoy a performance by the well-known professional pianist, Kazuha Nakahara, who is also a classical piano lecturer at the Conservatory of Music, UPH. After 4 1\/2 years of serving at UPH Indonesia, Kazuha, who is about to return to Japan very soon, wanted to leave a with a farewell recital for her colleagues, students and best friends in Indonesia. ?Turning Point? was a theme that recalled the moments she decided to leave the US and accept an invitation to come and serve at UPH in August 2010.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kazuha performed three songs in form of piano solo, which were E-flat Major, Hob. XVI\/52 (Joseph Haydn, 1732-1809), Etude in F minor (Felix Mendelssohn, 1809-1847) and Waltz on themes of Gounod?s ?Faust? (Franz Liszt, 1811-1886), as well as a song, featuring the UPH String Quartet, which was a Piano Concerto No. 13 in C Major, K415 (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, 1756-1791). The UPH String Quartet players were Tomislav Dimov and Ratna Nur Salim as violinist, Steven as violist, and Alexandre Nandawastu as cellist.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There were several distinguished attendees at the recital, including Anoja Wijeyesekera, Sri Lankas, Ambassador to Indonesia; Alexander A. Ivanov, Russian Ambassador to Indonesia; Kojiro Shiojiri; Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia; and Addie MS, an Indonesian conductor, composer, arranger, and producer. Raymond Liu, Ph.D., President of UPH and Connie Rasilim, S.S., B.Ed, M.Pd., the Vice President for Academic Affairs, also were present at this concert.(fc)<\/span><\/p>\n

?I was so touched to be here since I have collaborated several times with Kazuha. It was indeed wonderful that a person like her wanted to share her knowledge and teach lessons in Indonesia.
