Parapak, at the signing ceremony for the cooperation between UPH, STC – Group, and Humpuss in the implementation of the Executive Master Management Program for Maritime Industry in Jakarta<\/span>.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The cooperation between UPH Executive Education together with renowned partners in the maritime field was inaugurated by a signing ceremony on February 9, 2015 at UPH Executive Education, Jakarta. <\/span>T<\/span>he signing of the cooperation allows the expansion of human resources in the fields of maritime, logistics and supply chain<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

In this signing ceremony, the attendees included Jonathan L. Parapak, Rector of UPH, Captain Albert Bos, Director Shipping and Transportation College Rotterdam (STC-Group), Theo Lekatompessy, President Director of PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi, Tbk., and Hayo Provo Kluit, First Secretary, Deputy Head of Economic Department of Netherlands? Embassy.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event opened with a welcom<\/span>e<\/span> remark from Jonathan L. Parapak, Rector of UPH. “This program is an interesting program. We would like to thank the STC-Group and PT. Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi, Tbk. who are willing to cooperate with UPH to support the government by advancing Indonesia as a maritime nation through the Master of Management program in <\/span>M<\/span>aritime <\/span>I<\/span>ndustry,” said Jonathan.<\/span> <\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Captain Albert Bos, Director of STC Group, explained the outbreak of this collaboration idea<\/span>,<\/span> “We, the STC Group and PT. Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi, Tbk. have a mission to create qualified human resources, especially in the maritime field, for that we would like to establish a training center which will be able to deliver the material and knowledge in the field of maritime through this program. UPH as one of the best private universities in Indonesia is the right choice to advance Indonesian?s human resource?s quality, both in the national and international level.<\/span>?<\/span> It is also a form of support for the government and as a response to the importance of advancing the maritime field in Indonesia, especially as an archipelago state.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a form of support for this program, Hayo Provo Kluit, Deputy Head of Economic Department of Netherland?s Embassy, attended the <\/span>event<\/span>.<\/span>“Indonesia-Netherlands relationship is very close and wide. We do a lot of knowledge and experience exchange between the two countries. There are so many cooperations that have been done, one of them is in the aspect of education. We would like to extend our congratulations to UPH, STC Group and PT. Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi, Tbk in an effort to advance the Indonesian maritime sector <\/span>,? said Provo Kluit.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

In <\/span>delivering<\/span> this program, there<\/span>are a lot of challenges that must be overcome<\/span>d<\/span>. Theo Lekatompessy, President Director of PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi, Tbk, explained the challenges he is facing both domestically, regionally and internationally. “In ASEAN, can we compete with the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam in the open market? This means that the quality must be considered,” said Theo. Two major issues that need to be considered are the quality of human resources and the standards that Indonesia uses as a benchmark in advancing the maritime field.
