This saying started the Coffee Morning talkshow on Heartline radio with the key speaker, Dr. Kazuha, Head of Classical Performance Department of Conservatory of Music UPH and Antonius Priyanto, B.CM., M.Mus., Dean of Conservatory of Music UPH on Friday, March 6th<\/sup> 2015. These words of wisdom also depict the important role of music in life. Antonius agreed that these days music has become a very important part in education as well as giving enormous contribution in elevating the quality of education.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On the first segment under the topic of music education, Antonius elaborated that music education is an essential part of holistic education. That is why music education for early childhood is very important. This explanation was also supported by Kazuha, who said that music is an essential part and has become a primary tool to enhance education. Many researches show that music could help balancing left brain and right brain, so for kids, they are proved to be better in thinking and doing their homeworks. In medical aspect, music also could help them in preventing elderly health issues such as Alzheimer, reducing stress, and so on. <\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, the second segment showcased the programs offered in Conservatory of Music (CoM) UPH. Antonius emphasized that ?CoM UPH has been established as a milestone in the development of higher music education here in Indonesia.? CoM UPH offers a very comprehensive program yet specific through its 9 selections of program. CoM UPH programs comprise of Classical Performance<\/span><\/em><\/strong>, Jazz & Pop Contemporary Performance<\/em>, Performing Arts Production & Management<\/em>, Sound Design & Music Production<\/em>, Music Composition<\/em>, Music Education<\/em>, Church Music<\/em>, Music Therapy<\/em> dan Music Theory & History<\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Kazuha also added that the most important thing in learning music is to have fun and enjoy it. Studying music needs constant and repetitive practices. ?I often tell my students to go out, hang out, probably buying ice cream, look for inspiration out there and get back with a fresher mind. If not so, it will lead them to an excessive stress,? she explained. <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On the last segment, Kazuha informed a Classical Piano Recital called ?Turning Point? on March 21st<\/sup>, 2015 at Usmar Ismail Hall, 5 pm. This concert is the premiere concert of Kazuha in Jakarta. Previously, she had done various Solo Recital and performances outside Jakarta. On this recital, Dr. Nakahara will play several piano numbers from the master composer of classical music including Joseph Haydn, Felix Mendelssohn, and Franz Liszt. She also will collaborate with UPH String Quartet performing W.A. Mozart?s Piano Concerto. Each song that she will perform on the Piano Recital does have its own precious history from Kazuha, in which each song has its own story on how something changed her life. This recital will deliver a different concept where Nakahara also will interact with the audiences because she knew that she is not the only one who has a ?turning point? moment, but everyone does indeed. So she wants everyone to share a little bit of his or her turning point in life. She expects this recital will give education to the society that classical music is not that creepy, tough, or even boring, as usually told by people. Classical music in fact brings good impact for life. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This topic brought in a very interactive way and even several listeners asked questions. One of the questions was how to popularize classical music. According to Kazuha, one way is to encourage the classical musicians to give the performance to people, ?no matter how big or small that recital, but most importantly is the classical music that is being performed,? answered Nakahara to the Heart Listener. <\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the talkshow, Kazuha gave away 12 tickets of her Piano Recital to the Heart Listener who raised question in the middle of talkshow.(fc\/el)<\/span><\/p>\n
