In order to estbalish a bridge between the alumni of UPH with industry players, UPH Alumni & Corporate Relations in cooperation with industrial partners established a Company Gathering 2015, on Friday, 13th February, 2015. <\/span>According to Budi Legowo, Vice President for External Coorporation & Business Development UPH, through this event, industries will get to know the alumni of UPH and it also becomes an opportunity for faculty leaders to introduce the concept of education in UPH to the graduate users. “They can interact directly with the Human Resources (HR) team, which represents the company, so the company will know UPH graduates? profile and in turn, alumni will gain information on what kind of employee is expected by the company”, said Budi Legowo.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

The event was attended by about 83 participants from 36 companies and UPH. These companies included Lippo Group, PT. LOWE Indonesia, Ernst & Young, PT. 3M Indonesia, PT. <\/span>KMK Global, PwC, Ikea Indonesia, and many more. Dean and Head of Department from several faculties also attended the event.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Company Gathering 2015 was packaged in the form of a talk show with the theme “How to Engange Gen Y through Great Corporate Culture?”. The talk show presented three speakers: Christina Nangoi (Consulting Manager Kelly Services Indonesia), Lena Setiawati (General Manager BCA Learning & Development), and Suwandy (Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking, HSBC). Christina described the characteristics of Gen Y so that participants could get to know some more about the upcoming major generation. Meanwhile, Lena Setiawati conveyed how to equip and build generation Y based on the programs implemented at BCA. She explained coaching program, share vision, drive innovation, create a collaboration, and work life balance which can stimulate and motivate Gen Y.<\/span><\/p>\n

The last speaker, Suwandy, who is one of the Gen Y and alumni of UPH Management 2003, conveyed the salient characteristics of Gen Y which have to be kept in mind, including the use of social media, the tendency to be ambitious, and the needs for social life. “Open communication is badly needed to engage with Gen Y. This generation also requires a clear career path. So it needs to be clearly communicated what they can do in order to reach good careers”, he explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Along with this event, Career Expo was also held for two days, on 13th and 14th February 2015. The Expo presented nearly 50 companies with the attendance of approximately 1,300 visitors, consisting of final year students, alumni of UPH, and also the public.<\/span><\/p>\n
