Pada tanggal 6 Januari 2014, The Center for Asia Leadership Initiatives bekerjasama dengan FISIP UPH mengadakan konferensi kepemimpinan yang diikuti oleh 100 peserta dari universitas se-Jabodetabek. Kegiatan ini merupakan salah satu program dari Asia Leadership Trek (ALT) 2015 yang merupakan co-sponsor dari Harvard Asia Center dan Harvard Ash Center. Selain di UPH, ALT juga mengadakan kegiatan socioeconomic – political tour ke sembilan negara lainnya di Asia. Bentuk kegiatan yang dilakukan diantaranya capacity building programs dan konferensi, dengan tema utama ?Challenges and Opportunities in the 21st Century Asia?. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Pada dasarnya, program ALT 2015 ini diadakan untuk menelusuri secara lebih mendalam mengenai best practices<\/em> dan contoh leadership yang sukses secara khusus di Indonesia dan secara umum di Asia. Kami mencapai ini melalui serangkaian dialog langsung dengan berbagai tokoh-tokoh dari kalangan pemerintah, swasta, akademisi, dan masyarakat umum. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Peserta trek yang akan membawakan konferensi dan workshop di UPH adalah 45 young leaders<\/em> dari Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business School, Harvard Graduate School of Education, Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Harvard Medical School, MIT Sloan School of Management, and the Tufts Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sejauh ini, konferensi sudah pernah dilakukan di berbagai universitas\/Kementerian\/institusi seperti Kementerian Luar Negeri Republik Indonesia, Tsinghua University, Remin University, Fudan University, China Young Leaders Foundation, Yonsei University, BizJapan, Impact Japan, Benesse Corporation, Sunway Education Group, Teach for Malaysia, Teach for Thailand, Handong University, SowAsia, dan Hong Kong Polytechnic University.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Di Indonesia sendiri, UPH menjadi universitas swasta pertama yang dikunjungi oleh ALT 2015 ini. ?Melihat UPH sebagai universitas yang maju dari segala aspek, bervisi maju dan didukung oleh fakultas dan fasilitas yang sangat advance<\/em>, membuat kami tidak berpikir dua kali untuk menggandeng UPH untuk penyelenggaraan acara seperti ini. Kami juga sempat berdialog dengan John Riady pada kunjungan Group Harvard-MIT-Fletcher, bulan Juni 2014. Kami membicarakan mengenai kemungkinan diadakannya konferensi dan workshop ini di UPH dan akhirnya terwujud?, jelas Andi Sparringa, selaku Executive Director of Asia Leadership Trek Indonesia Center.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Konferensi ini dibagi menjadi dua sesi yaitu Panel Session<\/em> dan Workshop<\/em>. Panel Session dibawakan oleh panelis yang akan menyampaikan prespektif mereka mengenai kepemimpinan yang diperlukan untuk menghadapi dinamika dan peluang yang ada di Asia dan pengaruh kepemimpinan terhadap visi.     Para<\/span> panelis memberikan respon yang positif terhadap para mahasiswa yang hadir dalam konferensi ini. Terutama pada sesi tanya jawab, dimana antusiasme mereka sangat terlihat melalui pertanyaan yang berkualitas dan berbobot. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    Andi juga menyampaikan harapannya untuk bisa lebih aktif dalam upaya <\/span>menjembatani transfer of knowledge<\/em> dari teman-teman Harvard, MIT, Fletcher kepada teman-teman di berbagai universitas dan SMA di Indonesia. Secara khusus, Ia berharap dapat tercipta mutual sharing melalui rencana pelaksanaan konferensi (dan capacity building workshops<\/em>) di UPH. ?<\/span>We all had fun sharing our thoughts and exchanging brilliant ideas with the Indonesian youth at UPH<\/em>?, ujar Andi.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    Harapan serupa juga disampaikan oleh Lie Nathanel Santoso, Assistant Director of Business School, Faculty of Law & Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, ?Kami berharap melalui Konferensi ALT 2015 ini, bisa mempererat kerjasama UPH dengan universitas-universitas terbaik didunia.
