Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) worked together with UPH in a new academic program for prospective students who are interested in the field of Business including accounting, management, and international business. UPH held an open day event on Saturday (3\/22) at Building D 502 to give out information concerning the program as well as giving a chance for future students and parents who are interested to have consultation. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>The event took place from 09.00-12.00 with more than 20 future students along with their parents.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

 <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
The quality of this Joint Degree program is guaranteed as RMIT is a globally well-known university in Australia and have already established a few branches in Hongkong, Singapore, Shanghai and Jakarta. For this reason, parents don?t have to worry about the quality. Currently, there are approximately 80.000 students that have enrolled.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

RMIT also provides English Proficiency Test (EPT) by UPH Language Center for student candidates who participated in the event. If they are interested, the score from the test taken that day will be one of the requirements for their acceptance with the minimal score of 5.5.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

 <\/span>During the explanation of this Joint Degree program, Grace Salim, Director of Faculty Administration from UPH Business School stated that this program is important and interesting for prospective students who want to continue their study abroad or to an international university. ?I know all parents must experience anxiousness. They want their children to get the best possible education but also worried if they must go far away. For that reason, this program allows the students to get the best education with an international standard without having to go far away from home,? she explained. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

In order for parents to understand more about the benefit of this program, Mr. Gerald Shanahan, a representative from RMIT, explained the strength of the 65 years old university. RMIT is known as a great and trustable university with 40% of international students out of a lot of other students spread across 16 locations in various different countries including Vietnam, Singapore, Hongkong and Jakarta. RMIT has international programs that can be taken anywhere in countries partnering with RMIT. The collaboration of RMIT ? UPH allows students to enroll in RMIT curriculum program while studying full time in UPH without having to go abroad. Students who have finished the Joint Degree program will receive two degrees namely economic degree from UPH and Bachelor in Business from RMIT. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

 <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Joint Degree program also doesn?t waste students? time because the term is packed in the best way possible. Students can graduate within only three years. Other than less time consuming, this program also saves money education-wise.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

To pass the selection test, RMIT provides a few pathways for future students. For example, by enrolling in RMIT Foundation Studies Jakarta or by taking diploma of Commerce in advance.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

 <\/span>At the end of the event, one of the students who have enrolled in the Joint Degree program shared their experience, ?I?m happy I joined this program because not only did I get a new learning experience with this joint curriculum from the two universities, I also enrich my knowledge. Material access is also easy to get because RMIT provides blackboard system which helps students to be able to study by themselves and practice their knowledge.? (pris\/pik)
