Dean?s Talk is an event to accommodate parents of UPH prospective students to know UPH in more detail so that parents are more assured to enroll their children to continue their higher education. In this event, beside presentation from the deans, parents of prospective students had opportunities to directly ask any questions about education in UPH.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On September 21, 2013, Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) held the Dean?s Talk <\/i>that discussed Business<\/i> School, Law School <\/i>and Faculty of Social and Political Sciences<\/i>. 72 participants ? high school students? parents and prospective UPH students? parents ? who are interested to send their children to study in the aforementioned three faculties were attending this event.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Also attending the Dean?s Talk <\/i>are the rank of three faculties? leaders; John Riady ? Executive Dean of Business School, Law School and Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Kim Sung Suk ? Dean of Business School and Head of Management Program ? Antonius Herusetya ? Head of Accounting Program, Vincentia Esti ? Head of Law Program, Prof. Aleksius Jemadu ? Dean of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and Elfi ? Director of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences.<\/span> <\/p>\n

To the parents of UPH 2014 prospective students, John Riady explained the system of education in UPH and the newly applied acceleration program. At the beginning of his speech, he explained the phenomena that happen in the society where there is no more absolute truth. Each person?s perception towards a matter is considered as a truth. ?? This is the consequence of post-modernism,? he said. Therefore, he introduced a new education system in UPH ? Holistic Education. This system can see a matter in its wholeness, complete and multidimensional. ?Education that give a multidisciplinary understanding, an education that prepare UPH graduates readily enter the working world, and also an education that not only initiating the brain but also physical, emotion, psychology, spiritual, and others,? said John firmly.<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n

Grace Salim also added more information about UPH acceleration program where students could finish Bachelor education in just three years. ?There are three terms in one year,? explained Grace. According to Grace, students? current age ? where they have much energy ? is the right time for them to learn as much as possible. UPH also open a magister program in these three faculties that could be finished in one and a half to two years. ?Even in the span of four and a half years time ? this means at the age of 22 or 23 ? your children could achieve the Master degree,? added Grace in her Magister program explanation.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Beside the explanation of acceleration program, dean and head of department explained the three faculties programs in more details with interesting presentation and a video that shows students? daily activities and achievements. In the Q&A session, parents enthusiastically asked to presenters. Questions that were being asked are mainly about the tuition fee and the learning system of acceleration program. Responding to these questions, Marketing Director ? Lorensia Sugiarto stated that the acceleration program make the tuition fee become affordable. Meanwhile the learning system of acceleration program will be adjusted to each of departments? curriculum. The event is continued with lunch break and campus tour for parents who were interested to explore UPH campus. (ym)<\/span> <\/p>\n
