In the academic year of 2012\/2013 the Universitas Pelita Harapan Faculty of Science and Mathematics succeeded in achieving gold medals in two prestigious mathematics olympiad in Indonesia, Olimpiade Sains Nasional Pertamina 2012* ? OSN Pertamina 2012 and Olimpiade Nasional Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam-Perguruan Tinggi Direktorat Pendidikan Tinggi 2013** (ON MIPA-PT DIKTI 2013). Both of the Olympiads is a competition on four fields of science; Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Abe Gracian Vallerian<\/strong> succeeded in getting the gold medal in the OSN Pertamina 2012 on the Mathematics field after defeating the best 23 other finalists from various universities in Indonesia. Meanwhile in the ON-MIPA PT DIKTI 2013, where 62 best participants from various universities joined in, Yohanes Tjandrawidjaja<\/strong>, a dual-degree student of UPH Mathematics and Informatics, also succeeded in getting the gold medal. The achievement did not stop there with the international achievement by taking the third winner on the International Mathematics Competition in Bulgaria. This victory made UPH became the only private university in which its students managed to get the best predicate in both national and international Olympiad.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Currently, the two of them together with Panji Widiarda Rabowo who achieved a bronze medal in the ON MIPA-PT DIKTI 2013 on the Mathematics fields are in the middle of following the selection of 7 best students. Later, the 7 students will represent Indonesia in the International Mathematics Competition (IMC) XIX from August 6 to August 12, 2013 in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

OSN Pertamina 2012<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

PT. Pertamina in cooperation with Universitas Indonesia (UI) and fully supported by DIKTI hold the OSN Pertamina yearly. OSN Pertamina itself is a national science competition for Indonesia university students where they compete in two categories; Theory and Science Project. All participants in this competition had a chance to win the total prize of 2,8 Billion. 24 finalists from the 4 Theory categories (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and 8 finalists from the Science Project category presented their essay in front of the National board of judges on Wednesday (November 28, 2012) that took place at Wisma Makara UI, Depok. Representatives from UPH, Abe Gracia Vallerian succeeded in taking the gold medal form the Mathematics category.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The secretary of PT. Pertamina, Nursatyo Argo, said that as a form of PT. Pertamina determination to develop science further, winners from the national level will be given scholarships and development prizes for the universities whose students win in the competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

ON MIPA-PT DIKTI 2013<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

After passing twice selection process, the university selection and regional selection, 4 representatives from UPH FSM, Rosaria (2011), Listiarini (2010), Panji Widiarda Rabowo (2009) and Dany Laurent (2009) managed to enter the national level in ON MIPA-PT DIKTI 2013 together with the other 3.200 participants from various universities. The third winner in the International Mathematics Competition 2012 in Bulgaria, Yohanes Tjandrawidjaja (Mathematics 2009) also joined into the competition together with the other four UPH representatives without taking the selection process first.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

All of five UPH representatives managed to bring back awards from the competition, and one of the award is a gold medal from Yohanes Tjandrawidjaja (Applied Mathematics and Informatics 2009). Meanwhile, Rosaria (2011) and Listiarini (2010) achieved 2 silver medals in the Biology field, Panji Widiarda Rabowo (2009) achived a bronze medal in the Mathematics and Danny Laurent (2009) managed to also achieve a bronze medal in the Biology.<\/span><\/p>\n

UPH also awarded a special prize from DIKTI and KOPERTIS III as the private university that successfully taught its students to become the winter in Olimpiade Nasional Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Perguruan Tinggi (ON MIPA-PT) 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
