Scott, Director International Center of University of Missouri Columbia dan Joanna Yu, Director of Executive Education for IPPAM, University of California. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;mso-ansi-language: SV;\" lang=\"SV\">Kunjungan ini merupakan kunjungan kedua pada tahun 2012. sebelumnya kungjungan pada 16 April 2012, JC hadir bersama 6 universitas AS. Joint Council sendiri merupakan organisasi bilateral yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hubungan antara Amerika Serikat ? Indonesia dalam bidang pendidikan tinggi. Dewan kemitraan ini bekerjasama dengan sektor publik dan swasta dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan pertukaran pelajar, dosen, dan tenaga kependidikan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;\">Dalam kunjungan tersebut, delegasi didampingi oleh Brook W. Ross, Managing Director Indonesia Education Partnership. Para tamu diterima oleh Rektor UPH, Jonathan L. Parapak, Executive vice-chancellor, Garry A. Miller, VP IV, Budhi Yuwono, VP III, Kirk Kauffeldt, Jamie J. Williams dan Daniel R. Kambey, Faculty of Law, dan Natalia F. Budiman, Director of International Affairs.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;\">Beberapa hal yang disampaikan dalam pertemuan ini diantaranya program-program unggulan yang ditawarkan untuk mahasiswa Indonesia, keuntungan studi di AS, kualitas pendidikan pada tiap-tiap universitas, serta kemudahan bagi student Indonesia. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;mso-ansi-language: SV;\" lang=\"SV\">Sementara UPH dalam diskusi tersebut memaparkan beberapa program kerjasama yang memungkinkan untuk dilakukan. Diantaranya sebagaimana yang disampaikan Jammie mengenai program untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa inggris sesuai dengan bidang keilmuan. Sementara Daniel menyampaikan minatnya untuk program pertukaran baik student maupun dosen, mengingat program ini bermanfaat untuk memperluas wawasan dan pengetahuan para students. Ia juga menyinggung pentingnya joint research pada bidang-bidang hukum, social dan ekonomi. Bidang IT juga diangkat dalam diskusi ini, diantaranya terkait dengan program UPH untuk meningkatkan kualitas jurusan ilmu komputer. Demikian pula halnya dengan teacher college yang diselenggarakan UPH, sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan pendidikan di Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;line-height: 115%;mso-ansi-language: SV;\" lang=\"SV\">Melalui diskusi ini diharapkan ada peluang-peluang yang dapat ditindaklanjuti untuk kerjasama kedepan. Scott, <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Director of International Center<\/em> from University of Missouri-Columbia; and Joanna Yu, <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Director of Executive Education<\/em> for IPPAM from University of Southern California, paid a visit to Pelita Harapan University as representatives of universities in the States. The guests, led by Brook W. Ross as <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Managing Director<\/em> of Indonesian Education Partnership, were welcomed by Rector of Pelita Harapan University, Dr. Jonathan L. Parapak, Gary A. Miller as the <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Executive Vice-Chancellor<\/em>, Kirk Kauffeldt and Budhi T. Yuwono as <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Vice Presidents<\/em>, Natalia F. Budiman, <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Director <\/em>of International Affairs, and Jamie J. Williams and Nathanael Santoso, representatives of the Faculty of Law. The objective of this visit is to gain a deeper overview of Pelita Harapan University and opportunities for collaboration amongst these education institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 200%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 200%; color: #2b2b2b;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 200%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 200%; color: #2b2b2b;\">This is the second visit from the U.S. Joint Council within the whole year. The first of which took place on April 16, 2012; and in which visit came along the representatives of six American universities. The Joint Council itself is a bilateral organization aimed towards improving the diplomatic relations between the United States? and Indonesian government through the field of education. This council is in partnership with both public and private sides alike to increase the number of exchange students, lecturers, and education practitioners pursuing their academic interests abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 200%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 200%; color: #2b2b2b;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 200%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 200%; color: #2b2b2b;\">Some of the things presented by the four institutions were the flagship programs which are offered for Indonesian students, the advantages of study in U.S., the quality of education as well as the facilities provided for international students<\/span>.
