Kementerian Luar Negeri Republik Indonesia ? Kemenlu RI (Ministry of Foreign Affair Indonesia) once again held the Outstanding Students of the World (OTSW) for the third since 2011. The purpose of this program is to develop, boost, and empower the potential of Indonesia?s young generation, especially for those who have achievements and brought Indonesia to be more renown on various competitions either nationally or internationally. This year OSTW sent Indonesian students to United Kingdom where they joined in various activities such as public diplomacy, study tour, and presentation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

With her achievement on the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition 2012 and 2013, Roselyn Prima Winata from the UPH Faculty of Law batch 2011, received an invitation to join in the OTSW program from Kemenlu-RI. After going through a strict selection by sending in essay and interview, with 65 applicants, Roselyn attained the privilege to go to United Kingdom together with other 20 chosen students.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

OTSW started with quarantine program for 3 days in Indonesia. During the quarantine, the participants were following various orientation and training from prominent figures such as Diplomat, Boer Mauna and Ambassador, Dra. Artauli Tobing, MA. The three days quarantine was closed with the inauguration of OTSW participants by the Minister of Foreign Affair, Marty Natalegawa. Moreover, the UK Ambassador for Indonesia, Mark Canning, and Director General for Information and Public Diplomacy, Abdurrahman M. Fachir were also attending the inauguration. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

A day after the inauguration, OTSW participants finally went to the UK to join in the various activities for one week. They have the chance to visit important and historical places such as BBC, University of Oxford, International Maritime Organization, Business, Innovation, and Skill Department, National History Museum, and Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Besides being involved in the study program, OTSW participants were also visiting famous tourist destination such as Buckingham Palace and Tower Bridge.<\/span><\/p>\n

Having lunch together at the Embassy of Republic of Indonesia at Mayfair became the closing activity for the OTSW participants. After they had lunch, OSTW participants were preparing for a long return flight to Indonesia. OTSW program has successfully brought many precious experiences and abundant knowledge for the participants. In addition, the participants are now motivated to keep developing the relation between Indonesia and UK as well as increasing the optimism among the young generation to keep working for the betterment of their country and nation. The OTSW program has given me a chance to experience the role of Indonesia?s diplomacy representatives. It was truly an honor to be chosen as a young diplomat to promote Indonesia in the eyes of the world alongside my other 20 outstanding OTSW friends. This visit has made my nationalism and optimism towards Indonesia to be stronger than before because it shows that the Government of Indonesia is very aware with the development of its young generation. In this program, participants were given the stage to be confident of themselves when showing the amazing talents that the students of Indonesia have. Additionally, through my visit to UK, I was able to perceive Indonesia in a new light; because UK sees Indonesia as the leading country that sets into motion the gear of international economy.<\/span><\/div>\n
