Michael de Graaff adalah mahasiswa pertukaran pelajar dari Rotterdam University (RBS) yang berkesempatan belajar di UPH mulai Januari hingga Mei 2012. Di UPH, Michael yang mengambil jurusan Management belajar mengenai Principles of Marketing, Innovations, Brand and Image Management, Human Resources Management<\/em>, dan tentunya Bahasa Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Awalnya, sebagai salah satu syarat kelulusan di RBS, Michael diharuskan untuk mengambil satu semester kuliah di negara Asia. Indonesia menjadi pilihan pertamanya. Kemudian ada tiga universitas yang menjadi pilihan Michael di Indonesia. “Karena menurut riset saya UPH adalah universitas yang paling berkualitas, akhirnya pilihan saya jatuh kepada UPH. Selain itu UPH juga dekat dengan keluarga saya yang tinggal di Jakarta dan Bogor jadi saya dapat mengunjungi mereka di akhir minggu,” ceritanya. Selain itu, alasan ia memilih UPH karena UPH menawarkan paling banyak jurusan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sebelum ia mulai berkuliah, Michael melakukan campus tour <\/em>dan ia sangat terkejut karena UPh menurutnya sangatlah besar. “Ada kolam renang, lapangan basket, pusat kebugaran, dan ini semua adalah hobby saya jadi saya sangat senang dapat menggunakan semua fasilitas tersebut,” ungkapnya. Michael juga merasakan penglaman belajar yang multikultural. “Semua dosen memiliki gaya mengajar yang berbeda-beda. Ada yang berasal dari Cina, Filipina, dan juga dari Indonesia sendiri. Sangatlah menyenangkan dapat melihat banyak perbedaan budaya di sini,” katanya.<\/span><\/p>\n

“UPH memberikan banyak sekali keuntungan bagi saya. Pertama, tentu semua pengetahuan yang saya dapat! Sangat menyenangkan dapat belajar dengan perspektif yang berbeda, para dosen ikut serta membantu dan terus mendorong kita dan itu membuat proses belajar jadi lebih mudah,” jelasnya ketika ditanya mengenai keuntungan belajar di UPH. “Saya juga mendapat banyak teman baru di sini. Mereka nantinya dapat menjadi partner bisnis yang penting jadi mereka juga menjadi bagian dari network saya di Indonesia,” tambah Michael.<\/span><\/p>\n

Michael juga menceritakan rencananya di masa depan. “Rencana saya masih belum jelas. Saat ini saya masih fokus pada logistik namun akhirnya saya ingin memulai bisnis saya sendiri. Program management yang saya ambil di UPH akan sangat membantu karir saya di masa depan. Orang-orang di Belanda selalu tertarik dengan orang Indonesia dan karena sekarang saya sudah merasakan hidup di Indonesia, saya dapat menceritakan semuanya kepada mereka!”<\/span><\/p>\n
