On Wednesday, May 2nd 2012, UPH hosted a special event. That was the launching of www.dosomethingindonesia.org website and the socialization of stop bullying program. On Wednesday, May 2nd<\/sup> 2012, UPH hosted a special event. That was the launching of www.dosomethingindonesia.org<\/a> website and the socialization of stop bullying program. Coming as the speakers on this seminar were the representatives of Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa, with high school students as the participants. These students were the representatives of OSIS from their high schools.<\/span><\/p>\n

The seminar was prefaced by the introducing of High School Summer Program by 3 lecturers from Faculty of Law. High School Summer Program gave the students an opportunity to learn how to think and write as a real lawyer. The students seemed notice this introduction well.<\/span><\/p>\n

The seminar then continued with the website launching of dosomethingindonesia.org<\/i>. ?This website aims to be a place for Indonesian youth to do something for their community?, said Mario Tahitoe as the head of this program. ?Not all of the young people are the same, therefore we are from dosomethingindonesia.org<\/i> want to support w<\/span>hat Indonesian young people do in their communities or their environment. We believe you care and we believe Indonesian youth are able?, Mario added.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first thing that was done by do something was the socialization of the bully project. In this socialization, the participants were randomly divided in 7 groups. They were given a same mission each groups, and from each mission, there was a point that the speakers wanted to convey. For instance, on the first mission, every groups member were asked to tie a balloon on their feet and they were told that the winner was the one with balloon on his\/her leg was not broken. Almost all of the participants then attacked each other to explode someone else?s balloon.<\/p>\n

After the ?balloon war?, Mario asked them, ?Is there anyone telling you guys to attack your friends??. There was no command to attack one another; the command was the winner was the one with balloon on his\/her leg was not broken. ?From this we can learn that it is natural if someone wants to attack the others?, Mario said. Although it was natural, but we still should be careful. We might not use this as a reason to bully the others. (ft)<\/span><\/p>\n
