Miller, President UPH bersama Dekan dan Dosen dari beberapa fakultas mendiskusikan kemungkinan kerjsama dengan&nbsp;<span style=\"font-size: 10pt;background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white;\"><span>representatives for South East Asia of<\/span><\/span> <span style=\"font-size: 10pt;background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white;\"><span>KTH Royal Institute of Technolgy<\/span><\/span>, Sweden.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white;\"><br \/> <\/span> <\/p>\n<p>Salah satu universitas terkemuka asal Swedia, Royal Institute of Technolgy (KTH), melalui perwakilannya, Prof. Andres Hult, Director of International Affairs of South East Asia dan Maria Rothzen, Project Co-ordinator for South East Asia, berkesempatan bertemu dengan pimpinan dari beberapa fakultas teknik dan sains UPH, pada Kamis, 19 April 2012. pertemuan ini bertujuan untuk mendiskusikan kemungkinan kerjasama antara kedua institusi.<\/p>\n<p><span>Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Prof. Andres mempresentasikan profile universitasnya dan kondisi belajar mengajar dikampus tersebut. Ia mengatakan fokus kerjasama KTH hanya ditujukan kepada universitas-universitas terbaik di South East Asia. ITB merupakan salah satu universitas negri di Indonesia yang sudah bekerjasama sejak tahun 2007, untuk proyek program PhD dengan School of Biotechnology KTH.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Beberapa kemungkinan kerjasama yang dapat dilakukan diantaranya pertukaran pelajar, master program, beasiswa untuk program doktor, dan penelitian. Ihan Martoyo, dosen Faculty of Industrial Technology, menanyakan kemungkinan student dari universitas partner untuk melanjutkan program master di KTH. Sementra Dr. Helena, Dekan Faculty of Science and Applied Mathematics, tertarik pada peluang beasiswa bagi student berprestasi, misalnya yang memenangkan kompetisi tingkat nasional. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Menanggapi pertanyaan tersebut, Prof. Andres menjelaskan bahwa pelajar-pelajar dari universitas partner yang akan melanjutkan ke program master, akan dibantu untuk proses admission sehingga kredit-kredit yang sudah diambil di program undergraduate dapat diterima. Terkait dengan beasiswa, ia menambahkan bahwa, kebijakan pemerintah Swedia, tidak memberikan beasiswa. Namun keinginan tersebut dapat disiasati dengan memanfaatkan kebijakan pemerintah untuk membebaskan biaya studi bagi universitas partner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dalam bidang riset, salah satu unggulan KTH adalah di bidang center for health and human protein. <span>Ini memungkinkan mahasiswa maupun dosen UPH untuk belajar dan riset di bidang kesehatan dan teknologi, serta medical engineering. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Dalam diskusi juga dibicarakan keuntungan berpartner dengan KTH diantaranya, kemungkinan bagi dosen dari universitas partner mengambil program doktor, pembebasan biaya studi dan pertukaran pelajar maksimal 5 pelajar pertahun.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Prof. Andres berharap usai pertemuan ini, pihak UPH dapat mempertimbangkan bentuk-bentuk kerjasama yang dapat ditindaklanjuti dan direalisasikan.
