This Psychology Village was themed ?<i>C?est La Vie<\/i>?. ?<i>C?est La Vie<\/i>? is derived from French, which means ?this is life? in English. ?We raise developmental psychology issue, where life cannot be separated from development for every time?, said Silvia, as the Head of Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"> On the third Psychology Village, there was a series of events, such as seminar themed ?Being virgin before married: why not??, Pyschodebate, Call for paper, Toy fest, and We Care. Among those events, We Care and Toy Fest were two events that newly held. In accordance with the meaning, through We Care, the committee appealed the visitors to care about children with Down syndrome. We Care showed to public that those children were also able to do activities just like people in general, such as singing, dancing, and making hand crafts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"> ?We want to do a community service. As psychology students, we concern to children with Down syndrome, because we think if we just concern to normal children, students from other majors may also do the same. By concerning to children with Down syndrome, we also could learn about them directly?, Silvia explained. <\/span><\/p>\n<table _mce_new=\"1\" border=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uph.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/images_news_2012_04_toyfest.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"348\" height=\"233\" \/><\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Those children came to UPH on Wednesday, April 4<sup>th<\/sup> 2012. They showed their ability to sing and to dance. The audience felt emotional, some of them even cried. As the form of concern, the committee provided a booth to sell those children?s hand crafts, in which the sales revenue was given 100% to Yayasan Tri Asih for their school development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Besides We Care<\/em>, Toy Festival, also concerned to children?s development. Toy Fest itself was a competition and exhibition of educational toys. These toys were rated of its originality and whether the toys could be applied for children?s brain development.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>A children toys exhibition<\/td>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"> Not just for children, the committee also concerned to elderly people by holding Psychodebate, a national debate competition themed elderly people. The topics for this debate competition were topics that were still considered to be pros and cons, such as lethal injection for elderly people, special prison for elderly people, and early retirement for elderly people. ?We are really glad to join in this competition. Commonly, the theme of development only concerns about children, and elderly people are often forgotten, but Psychodebate takes this as the theme?, said one of participant from University of Indonesia.
