Keluarga, teman-teman tersayang, dan semua staf Yayasan Pelita Harapan yang datang dari seluruh Indonesia menghadiri upacara peringatan terakhir di Dome of the Harvest, Lippo Village dan mengantarnya ke tempat kudus terakhirnya di San Diego Hills, Karawang pada Hari Pendidikan Nasional, 2 Mei 2011.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Karena ia berkontribusi begitu banyak hal-hal besar untuk dunia pendidikan, orang besar ini dimakamkan di Heroes Plaza. &#8220;Ia dimakamkan di sini dengan penuh kehormatan sebagai pahlawan,&#8221; kata Dr (HC) James T. Riady, sahabat dan kolega ketika ia membaca biografi Oentoro itu. &#8220;Dia adalah seorang pencinta musik dan seni, seorang pemimpin visioner, pembentuk orang, lembaga, dan gereja, pendidikan, sekolah dan universitas, kesehatan, rumah sakit, yang paling dasar dan paling penting dalam fondasi masyarakat, pendiri dan Rektor pertama Universitas Pelita Harapan, pendiri dan kepala pertama dari sekolah Sekolah Lentera Harapan di seluruh Indonesia, dari Sekolah Dian Harapan, dari Sekolah Pelita Harapan, 25 dari mereka dan ia membentuk dasar&nbsp; untuk seribu lagi. Pendiri dan presiden pertama jaringan rumah sakit Siloam secara nasional, &#8220;kata James T. Riady biografi membaca Oentoro itu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Beliau bukan hanya meninggalkan warisan dalam pendidikan, tetapi beliau juga adalah seorang abdi Allah. Ia adalah orang yang meresponi panggilan Tuhan. Istrinya, Santy Oentoro, mengingat kehidupan suaminya dan menyebutkan bahwa ia adalah orang yang kuat yang benar-benar percaya pada Tuhan sampai akhir waktunya. Adik bungsunya Pdt. Dr Jimmy Oentoro B. juga menyebutkan kekagumannya terhadao kakak sulungnya. &#8220;Aku bangga padamu, Koh Yo. Kami semua bangga padamu, &#8220;katanya mengakhiri sambutannya.
