Building feasibility, both administratively and technically, is a crucial principal in buildings development. The growth of construction industry has been followed by the improvement of construction rules and standards, some emphasizing on the need of anticipation concerning the risk and damage caused by regulations? deviation and violation.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

To anticipate such risks, then the Master in Civil Engineering Program of UPH held a seminar entitled ‘Kelaikan Penyelenggaraan Bangunan dan Lingkungan?   in Graduate Program Campus, at Plaza Semanggi, 3th floor, Jakarta, on Thursday (28\/10).<\/p>\n

The seminar was attended by academics, students and practitioners of the construction industry,  aims to give understanding in the process, application and the effect of building?s regulation and standard in Indonesia<\/st1:country-region><\/st1:place>.<\/p>\n

The speakers at this seminar include Prof. Ir. Sofia W. Alisjahbana, M.Sc., Ph.D, Rector of Bakrie University, Ir. Asdarianto Asmoeadji, IAI, Chairman of Association of Construction Management Experts of Indonesia, and Dr. Ronald A. Manlian Simanjuntak, ST, MT, IAI, Head Program of UPH Master of Civil Engineering.<\/p>\n

In her presentation, Prof. Ir. Sofia W. Alisjahbana, M.Sc., Ph.D. explained the things that were more specific in terms of structure, related to the reliability design of the building floor plate structure. ?The aim of this discussion was to provide insight on designing buildings that need to be predicted to blast loads such as natural disasters or explosion,? said Sofia<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>. At the next session of Ir. Asdarianto described the construction and risk management, which continued with the presentation of research results on building in Karawaci environmental by Dr. Manlian.<\/p>\n

In this seminar also held the signing of cooperation agreements between UPH with Majalah Tren Konstruksi, conducted by Dr. Ronald A. Manlian Simanjuntak, representing UPH and M. Danial Iqbal – Director of Business Development of PT. Creative Development Investama as representatives from Majalah Tren Konstruksi. The implementation of the cooperation is intended to support the development of learning at universities in the world of construction activities, including education, research, seminars, and workshops.
