This program was based on the fact of cultural diversity in <st1:country-region><st1:place>Indonesia<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>. ?<st1:country-region><st1:place>Indonesia<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> can be said as a country with the most diversed culture, and we must be aware of it,&#8221; said Anne Parapak, Dean of UPH Faculty of Psychology in her opening speech of BATIC at MYC Multipurpose Room.<\/p>\n<p> Culture is closely related to the behavior of society. &#8220;Different cultures, mean different behaviors. Cultures give major influences on human behaviors. Therefore, we must learn these two things, because this is actually the fields of psychology,&#8221; said Debri Pristinella, one of UPH Psychology lecturers. <\/p>\n<p> UPH has several concentrations in Psychology, such as Child Psychology, Industrial Psychology, and Abnormal Psychology. However, Inter-Cultural Psychology has a special place in UPH. &#8220;Each student will take a field study course in 7<sup>th<\/sup> semester, where they&#8217;ll go somewhere and do a research. We&#8217;ve done it in Bali and <st1:city><st1:place>Manado<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>,&#8221; added Debri.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong><em>Anne Parapak is cutting the<br \/>ribbon to symbolize BATIC <br \/>opening<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin-right: 8px; margin-bottom: 12px; float: left;\" src=\"images\/jsnews\/batic-ketua panitia.jpg\" alt=\"images\/jsnews\/batic-ketua panitia.jpg\" width=\"143\" height=\"178\" \/>It does not mean that the Inter-Cultural Psychology is the &#8216;golden child&#8217;. This faculty has also held autism workshop for abnormal psychology practice, visitations to companies for industrial psychology, and visitations to schools for child psychology. &#8220;Since we have never held any events for Inter-Cultural Psychology, this BATIC event is our debut,&#8221; said Chrystian Pohan, chairman of BATIC committee. <\/p>\n<p> The event consists of PsychoDebate (debate competition with the topic of culture), Call for Papers (paper competition with the cultural framework), band competition (playing folk songs), photography competitions, and of course the bazaar, which will took place from April 5-9, 2010.
