Bollinger yang baru saja diluncurkan dengan judul ?<span>Uninhibited, Robust, and Wide-Open: A free press for a new century.?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in; line-height: 150%;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span>Acara diadakan mulai pukul 9 sampai 11 di Hotel Aryaduta<\/span> Jakarta, Jl. Prapatan No. 44-48, Jakarta Pusat. Acara dihadiri oleh para pembicara, yaitu : Endy Bayuni, Chief Editor of The Jakarta Post ; Ezki Suyanto, Board of Alliance of Independent Journalists ; Andreas Harsono, Chairman of PANTAU Foundation ; A. Lin Neumann, Chief Editorial Advisor of The Jakarta Globe ; John Riady, Editor At Large at The Jakarta Globe and Lecturer at the Pelita Harapan University Faculty of Law. Dengan moderator Prof Dr Tjipta Lesmana, Head of Master of Communications&nbsp;&#8211; Universitas Pelita Harapan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in; line-height: 150%;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Buku Bollinger ini merupakan salah satu bentuk simpati akan dunia pers berhubungan dengan perkembangan teknologi informasi dan krisis global. Bollinger berpendapat bahwa ?globalization intensifies our need for the press to remain free and independent so that it can report accurately on the world, from the world, to the world?. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in; line-height: 150%;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">?If there too many freedom it will be chaos everywhere?, kata Tjipta Lesmana saat pembukaaan seminar. Hal ini diiyakan Ezki Bayuni dengan berpendapat ? If <\/span>there is a really real freedom, we can write and publish anything, in every hour.? Inilah yang membuat dibutuhkannya sebuah peraturan yang jelas, bukan hanya untuk mengatur seberapa bebasnya pers, tetapi juga perlindungan akan para pekerja dalam dunia tersebut.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; text-indent: 0.5in; line-height: 150%;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Lin Neuman sependapat akan hal tersebut. Neuman menemukan kurangnya perlindungan secara hukum bagi wartawan di banyak Negara, khususnya Negara-negara Asia. Andreas Harsono mengambil contoh akan kasus ini. Jika pers di Amerika melakukan kesalahan, demi kepentingan pubik, wartawan yang terkait tidak akan dihukum. Tetapi di Indonesia, kelasahan berita, bisa berakibat tuntutan pidana terhadap wartawan terkait. Hal ini ditanggapi Jon Ryadi dengan gagasan pentingnya sebuah edukasi ? membangun sebuah pendidikan jurnalistik, ? I hope that UPH can make a journalism school?.
