Karawaci (04\/11) ? Komite Teknologi Informasi komite Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta mengunjungi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan dalam rangka studi banding sistem e-learning. Staff TI UGM menilai sistem e-learning di UPH lebih maju sehingga mereka tertarik untuk mempelajarinya, terutama e-learning yang sedang dijalankan di FK UPH.<\/p>\n

?Kami sedang mencari universitas yang menggunakan e-learning di Fakultas Kedokterannya. Kami mencari dan UPH cocok untuk menjadi model untuk sistem e-learning, karena e-learning di UPH, terutama untuk Fakultas Kedokterannnya, lebih maju daripada yang ada di UGM,? kata Sekretaris Komite TI Fakultas Kedokteran UGM, Anis Fuad.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sistem e-learning di Fakultas Kedokteran UGM mulai digunakan sejak tiga bulan lalu dengan nama Gadjah Mada Medical e-learning (Gamel). Mereka menganggap sistem ini perlu dikembangkan karena mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran UGM sekarang dapat menggunakan komputer, tapi hingga saat ini, hanya masih dalam tahap percobaan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tim UPH Faculty of Application and System Development (FASD) juga membagikan pengalamannya tentang e-learning UPH. Rianto sebagai Manajer FASD menjelaskan organisasi e-learning berpusat di FASD sehingga tidak ada web master dari setiap fakultas. ?Jadi infrastruktur dan layanan e-learning untuk semua mahasiswa fakultas sarjana dan pascasarjana dipusatkan di UPH, Karawaci,? tambahnya.<\/p>\n

Karena itu, FASD memiliki keterbatasan dalam memberikan bantuan dalam konteks teknologi sementara untuk isi harus bekerjasama dengan dosen yang berkaitan. ?Para dosen sendiri yang akan menentukan material yang sesuai untuk e-learning. Kami menyarankan material yang berdurasi lama karena prosesnya juga memakan waktu,? kata Rianto.<\/p>\n

Sistem e-learning pada dasarnya hanyalah sebuah dukungan untuk kelas tatap muka. Biasanya material yang dibuat untuk e-learning adalah material yang membutuhkan visualisasi. Rianto memberikan contoh, ?Seperti misalnya dosen Teknologi Pangan yang ingin menjelaskan tentang karbohidrat. Agar lebih mudah, kami membuatkan flash presentation<\/i> sehingga mahasiswa bisa cepat mengerti. Lalu kami tambahkan kuis pada akhir penjelasan untuk menguji pemahaman mahasiswa.?<\/span><\/p>\n

Ketujuh staff TI dari UGM puas dengan penjelasan dari tim UPH. ?Informasi ini akan sangat berguna. Kami tidak salah memilih UPH sebagai tempat untuk studi banding. Kami belajar banyak dari perkembangan e-learning untuk kampus kami, terutama untuk Fakultas Kedokteran,? kata Anis.<\/span> (cynruslan)<\/p>\n
