Aleksius Jemadu in a talk show “Indonesia democracy” in Heartline FM radio<\/p>\n

Lippo Village, (4\/06) ? Associate Dean of The Faculty of Social and Political Science Universitas Pelita Harapan (FISIP-UPH), Aleksius Jemadu, said that Indonesia should appreciate itself so that other nations will do so. He asserted this in a talk show that discussed Indonesia?s democracy in Heartline FM radio station, Thursday (4\/6).<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Jemadu states that Indonesia has a quite central role in the world?s multilateral relationship and in establishing recoveries from global crisis by showing an act of democracy which can set a good example for other countries with plural societies.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

?Indonesia has succeeded in creating a nation which prioritizes peaceful coexistence among the differences of its various religions, tribes, languages, and many others. This is a good example for the international world,? he said.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

The fact that Indonesia is still tend to be regarded as unimportant to other countries, said Jemadu, is caused by internal conflicts such as corruption and human rights violations that happen quite often.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

?Those conflicts indicate that we still cannot manage ourselves. This also shows that since the new order we have been doing mismanagement to the nation with lots of corruptions and human rights violations,? said Jemadu.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Therefore, Indonesia should appreciate itself more so that other nations will appreciate Indonesia more, said Jemadu. One example that other nations do not appreciate Indonesia is the case of Ambalat water area, which is originally, belongs to Indonesia. <\/p>\n

Jemadu stated that weak law enforcement also cause Indonesia to be used by other nations to gain benefits. ?As long as we cannot apply the law as it should, other nations will underestimate and take benefits from us,? said Jemadu.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
