HOSPITOUR ENTREPRENEUR CLUB
One of education orientation is to make graduate independent in the sense
of having a strong mental effort to make their own, not as job seekers but
as entrepreneur. Founded in 2021, Hospitour Entrepreneur Club (HEC) is a hospitality-based start-up entrepreneurial incubator. It improves student mental entrepreneurial independence.
HEC is developed as a method, tools, and model of entrepreneurial learning scenarios appropriate to the subject of entrepreneurship. It is implemented through incubator program which has been widely used in various fields, including education and business.
HEC is a hub for students of School and Hospitality and Tourism to UPH SparkLabs Incubation, a business incubator to help UPH students and alumni establish their business ideas.
HEC is a one-semester immersion program, offered to senior or students in their final year. The program consists of:
1. Pre-departure: Orientation phase designed to increase the students’ self-awareness both as part of the program, and as an individual with strengths and weaknesses, which may enhance or hinder their adjustment in the program. It is a time for them to reflect on how they deal with new challenges.
2. On-boarding: Organizational socialization process. It integrates students with HEC and its culture, and helps them to start their first step of
team development.
3. E-Bootcamp: Basic training to prepare students for all elements of entrepreneurship. It gives students the basic tools necessary to perform the roles that will be assigned to them during the program.
4. HECathons: Adopted from Hackathons, long a team-building mainstay
of Silicon Valley, It is an ideation event to bring new start up business ideas.
5. Development: Let’s get down to business. It is time to execute the ideas.
