Bible and Theology Minor
Majors
The International Teachers College has two majors and one minor:
The Bachelor of Education degree (B.Ed.) in Primary Education (i.e., Elementary School) is designed to prepare students to teach as elementary school classroom teachers. The major prepares graduates to teach language, math, social studies, sciences, arts, and physical education.
The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in English Education is designed to prepare students as secondary school English teachers (i.e., high school). The major prepares students to be general English teachers, including writing and literature, as well as Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
All graduates of the ITC also receive a minor in Bible and are capable of teaching Bible at the primary or secondary level.
Curriculum
Both majors include a variety general education coursework, including history, psychology, science, communication, theology, and physical education. The education courses cover areas of instruction, curriculum development, classroom management, as well as major-specific content. Students participate in field experiences in area schools, culminating in a semester-long student teaching practicum.
