Many other photographs here illustrate what really happens to the underprivileged in Indonesia.

Indonesia is a rich country. Its natural resources are abundant. Yet, its people are far from being prosperous. At least, that is what Poriaman Sitanggang tried to show in his photograph exhibition called ?Potret Wilayah? or ?Portraits of the Region? in Pelita Harapan University (UPH) from 21 to 25 April 2008.

His photographs reflect the real life of Indonesian people who are less fortunate. They are portrayed as struggling in midst of their complicated life.

Some portraits of people?s life include the photograph of a fisherman sitting on his boat and that of two children eating naked on a table while their mother is doing chores. Many other photographs here illustrate what really happens to the underprivileged in Indonesia.

On the basis of this humanity problem, UPH?s Service Learning, together with the World Bank, held this photograph exhibition. This exhibition is a part of the ?learn and serve? series of UPH?s service learning.
