The act of charity or giving out to other people is a form of our care for those who need our help. For this reason, UPH?s Law Student Senate cooperated with the world?s children organization organize a bazaar for charity called ?Wonderland? from Tuesday (23/4) to Wednesday (25/3) in UPH campus building, Karawaci. This is from emphasizing just the act of care for others.

UNICEF?s spokesperson, Dike D. Marta, says, ?This is the first time ever that the world?s children organization UNICEF exposes themselves to cooperate with schools and universities in organizing charity events.? The theme itself is acknowledged in concordance with UNICEF?s target to collect fund for children. Therefore, all the money collected in the event will be given straight to UNICEF. The head committee of the event, Yuninda Dwiasri says that up to now (25/3) the money collected has nearly reaches 20 million rupiahs.

Yuninda said that this time, she tried to build a one of a kind concept of the charity event, which is different from other charity events organized before. The event lasted for two days and it was concentrated on the stage which was decorated sophisticatedly just like wonderland. The stage will then be the place for various popular singers such as Tompi, T-Five, Idola Cilik (Silvia ? Ify ? Irva), and many others. Also aimed to jazz up the event, a well-known street percussion group from Sanggar Roda was also invited. The founder, Heni, says that this group stands as a place for children to do positive activities as well as a place for them to practice their capabilities.

The event was finalized by a symbolic transgerence of the money collected from the committee to the representatives from UNICEF, Dike D. Marta. Marta says, ?UNICEF appreciate the committee for organizing the event that help more children who are in need. She continues, ?This charity event is excellent for the university?s annual program, especially for students to organize this. It is important for us all to care for and help each other.? Marta also promises that UNICEF will always be open for cooperation in organizing such event.

Several participants have also given positive responses about this event. A student of Education Faculty of UPH, Livia, says, ?Events like this had rarely existed. This is a very good event. I hope there would be more charity events like this so that we are aware of the fact that we should share and give.? Yuninda hopes that this charity event will be increasingly developed each year and give awareness to students not just to give away money but also have fun. ?I hope that through this event we are motivated to give out some of our belongings for the prosperity of those who are in need,? she adds.
