?Pendopo Multifungsi? for Teluk Naga Residence

Universitas Pelita Harapan?s Faculty of Design and Planning (FDTP-UPH) is participating in building and developing three activity centers for Teluk Naga residence called ?Pendopo Multifungsi?.

Universitas Pelita Harapan?s Faculty of Design and Planning (FDTP-UPH) is participating in the series of development programs for ?Desa Binaan? in the area of Teluk Naga, Tangerang which are held by Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat of UPH (LPPM-UPH).? Coordinated by the Head of Construction Structure and Building Technology Laboratorium, I Ketut Canadarma, the faculty is now building three activity centers for Teluk Naga residence called ?Pendopo Multifungsi?.

Ketut calculated that the three ?PENDOPO MULTIFUNGSI? FOR TELUK NAGA RESIDENCE will be finished on the second week of May and will be used as a public library and other activities of the residences. Not only ?Pendopo Multifungsi?, Ketut is also planning to build playgrounds for children, public bathroom and medical clinic for the residences.

Numerous teams of architecture, civil engineering, and design students come to the construction location everyday to show their care to the residences of Teluk naga, as well as to practice what they are learning in the university.

One of the architecture students who once came to the construction location, Linda, said that she is excited to help building the ?Pendopo Multifungsi?. ?It?s fun. We can practice building the activity center. We are also glad to help the residences,? she said. Linda is not the only one, several other students also seem enthusiastic to help building the activity centers.

Many residences admitted that they are longing for the buildings to be finished. One of the residences, Roya, stated that for almost everyday she looks out from her doorway to see the development of the construction. ?If the building is finished, I will be so happy. It can be used for teaching too,? she said, smiling.

Manager of LPPM-UPH, Maynerd Idris Tambunan, said that the local community give a very positive responses,?even some of the entrepreneurs living nearby help funding the construction.

Ketut is hoping that these ?Pendopo Multifungsi? can function to develop the residences? creativity, as well as their knowledge and teamwork. ?I hope that our help can bring awareness to them about many things, such as cleanliness. A person who has a healthy body also has a healthy soul. That way, he could be successful.?
